Your worst "Oh hell I am dumb" gaming moment.

First multiplayer level in Portal 2. The players are separated by a glass wall with a window-like opening. On one side of the wall is a cube. On the other side is a button to open the door. It took my cohort and I half an hour of running around in confusion before we realized that the cube...

A Review Scoring System That Would Work

I think the best way of dealing with game reviews is to find a reviewer that you like or usually agree with, then listen to their opinion. If you find someone who has similar taste in games to you, then you can take them seriously when they tell you to buy or avoid a game. Even if your...

Open Letter to Parents of League of Legends' Players

Yep, sounds like the LoL community. Their ranking is the ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT THING, guys. So you can't screw it up by leaving a game to spend time with your family, or being bad at the game, or playing a character that they don't like, or playing a character in a sub-optimal...

    "Good" vs "Bad" Difficulty

I would add another category here. "Difficulty by Luck." FTL's been mentioned a few times, but what that game really comes down to is how lucky you are on drops. To even have a chance of beating it, you have to get good weapons, missiles, spare parts, etc. I don't think I've seen a game...

Yes, Women in Dragon Age Could Use Longswords

I don't think you read the article. The whole point is that the difference in strength between men and women doesn't even factor in. Longswords are light enough and the difference is negligible enough that women being the "weaker sex" doesn't matter. You don't need to be a muscle mountain...

Does the gaming industry need its own "Oh Yeah, Cartoons!"

So... Steam Greenlight, then? Greenlight is where you pitch an idea, and if enough people like it, we get another open-world crafting game with zombies.

Poll: Dragon Age: Inquisition. Funny glitches anybody?

Only run into a couple of glitches. One where I was talking to Cassandra in Haven and saw an NPC zooming around in the background. They kept reappearing in their little conversation group, then shooting off across the ground to who-knows-where and probably despawning or something. It was...

What did folks think of Transistor?

I only played through until I beat the first or second boss (the lady with the umbrella), so my comments should probably be taken with a grain of salt. I thought it was more style than substance. The atmosphere, music, art, and voice acting were superb. The gameplay struck me as just okay...

Mount and Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest. Riddled with bugs

I haven't had any crashes yet, but the game runs really choppy sometimes, especially when you're docking somewhere on the world map. I have run into a bug where I had to restart the game - I went back to Sven Bull-Neck's hideout after rescuing Bodo (nonviolently) and attempted to conquer it...

Thoughts on ORAS, and the current state of Pokemon games?

I'm having a hard time sticking with this one. I loved X and Y, but ORAS aren't really bringing anything new to the table, except the sneaking mechanic. I'll give it another try when the next generation of games come out, but I'm worried that I'm losing my passion for the series.

Valve Tightens Its Early Access Rules

I think a lot of people don't really realize how terrible the state of Early Access is right now. Pick any of Jim's Squirty Plays at random and you're probably going to end up with a piece of trash cobbled together in one week in Unity engine. How about the recent video on "Dragon," for...

    Help with naming armour categories

I'll second this, Quilted or Padded armor would make sense to me. Although it wouldn't work for mage robes or anything flimsier than what normally counts as a "leather" armor. Maybe you could have a "Clothing" category, too?

Shadow of Mordor Power Struggles? Why bother?!

The second half of the game turns up the difficulty a little. Captains will start spawning at a strength of 10-12 instead of 5 or so, and they'll start having a lot more strengths than weaknesses. The warchiefs on the second half of the game can be absolutely fearsome. It's difficult to take...

How Shadow of Mordor Embodies the War on Terror

I haven't finished the game yet, but I've gotten the feeling throughout that Talion was being set up for a fall. Celebrimbor's motives are certainly questionable, and a nice guy doesn't tell you to brainwash an army of your enemies to your command. Talion slowly caves to more and more morally...
