"The Last of Us" Original or Remastered?

Having just recently played through the PS3 version, I'd say, play the PS3 version. It's still one of the best looking PS3 games.

    About Mario

The time and energy that was put into Mario's signature feature... running and jumping, was leaps and bounds above its contemporaries in 1985. Everything from initial velocity, air control, inertia both in air and on landing, height both walking and running were all tested and retested to give...

    pre-order, why?

I only pre-order for games I know I will enjoy immediately and am getting a physical copy of, probably picking it up on release day at a physical store. But I wait, usually until within a month of release. The pre-order gifts are rarely worth it to me, but I'll gladly take them. Can't...

Poll: Nintendo Switch and No Blu-Ray Drive... Make or Break?

In terms of cartridge cost, I think the wholesale cost will actually be quite low. If I could get a 64GB micro SD card for $15 at a retailer, then wholesale, it must be cheaper than that. From the few stills from the reveal video, the cartridges look very similar to DS/3DS cartridges...

Poll: Nintendo Switch and No Blu-Ray Drive... Make or Break?

Since micro-SD cards are now upwards of 100GB in storage, having a DS-like cartridge won't hold the console back in terms of storage.

    Should I support Nintendo anymore?

I grew up with them, left Nintendo in college, and then picked it back up grad school, and got a Wii U when it was like a year old. I currently am looking forward to the NX more than PS or XB because I have a PC that isn't shit and at least I can expect true exclusives on Nintendo systems...

    Blowing On Cartridges

It worked on NES cartridges for sure. Although a cotton swab usually worked better and you could actually see if there was corrosion on the game contacts. The NES wasn't great about getting it's contacts aligned though. Reinserting it probably did as much as the blowing.

    PS3+ choices

Thanks for the input all. Decided to go with Bioshock 2 first, since I liked the first one on PC. I guess the PC port (pre-remaster) did little to the game so graphically its barely different. I liked the surprise of which somehow I had forgotten. I should probably wait on Infinite so I...

Nintendo NX: What have you heard?

What CaitSeith said. A portable/home console hybrid. My guesses include some type of dock that adds additional processing for HD for TV and probably 720p controller touchscreen. Also it's pretty credible that it will use cartridges. My guess is something like large SD cards or DS/3DS...

    PS3+ choices

After going forward to PC and Wii U, I recently checked my backlog of PS+ games on PS3. Mainly I checked to see if any of the games I had been looking to pick up cheap on Steam were on there. Lo and behold, I found a whole slew of games I have access to that I had been watching to buy on Steam...

Portal movie - How would that work?

The idea of a team was essentially my thought imaging a Portal movie as well. Might work totally PG without death (elaborate fails that could have killed) to the ultra gory where few or one survive. And maybe end like the game on a ??

Well, the new Doom game is kinda lame.

I very much enjoyed Doom 4. I liked the pace of combat and ever increasing difficulty of the encounters. Unlike Doom 3, the setting gets to Hell fairly quick and then there is some variety after that too. Played on Hurt Me Plenty I think. It got hard enough that the Glory Kills were nice...

PSA: Dead Space 1 and 2 are on sale on STEAM for 5 bucks a piece.

I played Dead Space 1 and 2 for PS3 and really liked both. It was like playing a game version of Event Horizon, with excellent atmosphere and generally "realistic" physics, especially the excellent sound work. The "HUD-less" system was cool too. I liked the exploration of 1, and was...

Next 5 Games You will buy new

Buying at $60: Zelda - Probably Wii U version. I probably will not be blown away enough by the NX reveal to want one, at least right away. Also, Zelda games keep their value more than almost anything else, so buying immediately doesn't make me feel buyers remorse. (I bought Skyward Sword a...
