Robot Trained to Shoot Guns is "Not a Terminator," Insists Russia

What is the deal with the brass falling at the end. That was obviously staged, which casts doubt on the whole thing. Next thing they are going to tell us they have downloaded a digital copy of Putin's brain into it, and they will be displaying the robot bear being developed for it to ride into...

Longtime Valve Employee Erik Wolpaw Leaves Company

If we can't get a new Portal or Half Life game out of him, maybe he can reboot Old Man Murray. I can dream, can't I?

Ad Exec on Blockers: "Little Piss Ants" Threaten Freedom of Speech

Dear Mr./Mrs./Ms. Advertising person, If you want your advertisements to be watched, make them exceptionally entertaining (specifically to your target audience). Its that simple. If you say "the product I advertise for can't be advertised in an entertaining way," use to google to find those...

Programmer Writes Scripts To Automate His Job, Email Wife, And Make Lattes

Just an FYI for anybody who thinks this is a brilliant idea, it's not. In a shorter period of time than you would imagine, some change will occur in your enterprise environment breaking those scripts. Depending on the criticality of the now broken function you will have to divert resources to...

Cyberpunk 2077 to be "Far, Far Bigger" Than The Witcher 3

This reminds me of Bubblegum Crisis. Thats not a bad thing. Not a bad thing at all. Also: Mike Pondsmith is doing video games now? I wonder if he'll get a snazzy Mekton video game out in my lifetime.

Why There Is No Future For Old Games

I don't agree with the statement about hardware/OS versions. I'm no longer the Windows expert I used to be, but back when I had my MCSE, Microsoft used to beat you up on the exams about Windows on Windows (WoW). Basically the version of windows you are running can emulate many previous versions...

Microsoft: "We've Lost Our Way" on PC Gaming

I'd be happy with Halo3 for PC. Happier if the graphics were upgraded to DX11.

Poll: Would you back Yahtzee on Patreon?

Yes. Not a lot, but yes. I would've bought some terrible games if I hadn't seen his reviews of them first, and there are a few games I wouldn't have purchased and enjoyed for the same reason.

Your reaction if we went to war with North Korea?

At that time the US military was focused and trained to fight a conflict in Northern Europe. This training was applicable to fighting in Korea. It wasn't remotely applicable to fighting in Vietnam. My dad was a Korean War vet, and he had a lot of respect for the fighting spirit of the N...

Your reaction if we went to war with North Korea?

We did it with/to Japan after World War II. That said, I can't think of any positive outcome with invading North Korea in any situation. Any invasion into North Korea would almost assuredly put our forces against Chinese forces. And that would be ugly. There was a treaty signed between China...

    Breastfeeding in Public

Who timed this? Are the competitions, like quick draw competitions? On a more serious note... For me, its the not-intimate-nature of something that would be intimate if it wasn't a baby. That bugs me. I think that's it, but I'm not sure. I'm certainly not prudish, I have no problems with...

Spending $300 on an Internet Spaceship

I have the Constellation. I bought in to Star Citizen with a 300i two years ago, and my wife got me the upgrade to the Constellation (the "Rear Admiral" package) as a Christmas gift. Personally, I couldn't spend $300 on a virtual ship, even though I wanted it badly. My wife doesn't have those...

Game Theory: Why Mario is Mental, Part 2

Fascinating. You forgot (or were unaware of) playing with fire as one of the other traits from the Macdonald triad. Technically its pyromania (obsession with starting fires). But in this context, its close enough.

Poll: Do you say 'thanks' to transport workers (bus drivers, taxi drivers, train drivers etc.)?

I don't ride buses much any more, but when I do, I make a point to quickly greet/acknowledge the driver when boarding, and say 'thanks for the ride' if departing by the front.
