I agree with you except for...4chan would be WITHOUT bullshit????? By the bullshit i know you mean the paying but still....bullshit-free 4chan, we can only dreamAzureWrathHal said:SA has been pretty stuck up its own ass for quite awhile now, so this isn't really that surprising. I guess they figure being able to post on their forums with the other "goons" is a privilege people will shell out money for.
Personally I think you could just go to 4chan and get the same quality dialogue without all the bullshit.

Perhaps you've had a genuinely brilliant time with the Something Awful crowd, but would you say you've had so significantly better a time than you've had with free forums such as this to justify paying money speak to others? It seems laughable that one would actually pay to have their first amendment right enabled. Of course I'm English so it's not the first amendment for me it's the ... Uh ... Damn you American media filling my head with American law!Sexual Harassment Panda said:I am a member. I think it has gone down hill slightly, less mspaint threads now. But I don't regret the £5 I spent on becoming a member. £5 is nothing for hours upon hours of genuinely funny threads.
No, no we can't. Can we dream of four-sided triangles? No, because four-sidedness and triangularity are mutually contradictory properties. Three-sidedness is the essence of a triangle just as bullshit is the essence of 4chan.Cortheya said:I agree with you except for...4chan would be WITHOUT bullshit????? Yes, yes I do think it's justified. Typically threads here, or most places. Are along the lines of "should I buy a ps3?" "atheism vs christianity" or "ps3 vs xbox, this is why xbox is better!". It's fine but it gets so grating. At SA you get a little more diversity. Things like "msPaint your embarassing childhood memories" or "help me sleep with my step mom" were really very funny...as in I laughed...hard...BGH122 said:Perhaps you've had a genuinely brilliant time with the Something Awful crowd, but would you say you've had so significantly better a time than you've had with free forums such as this to justify paying money speak to others? Fuck, if only that was the case for Twitter. Then maybe people would stop using the damn thing.PureChaos said:apparently they were going to make it so that you had to pay to be able to use Facebook
Well that's grand and I'm really happy you feel you've got your money's worth. It's always nice not to feel ripped off. However, that sort of random in-joking and nonsense can also be found on sites like facepunch. Give it a look. My friend is pretty big there and he's been around for years and they only ever seem to discuss the sort of stuff you mentioned. That's not really the vibe of this sort of site and, whilst the facepunch/SA vibe can be fun for a bit I just find it too inane. That's not meant as an insult.Sexual Harassment Panda said:Yes, yes I do think it's justified. Typically threads here, or most places. Are along the lines of "should I buy a ps3?" I understand completely. If SA was perfect, and permanently fun...I wouldn't bother coming here as well.BGH122 said:Well that's grand and I'm really happy you feel you've got your money's worth.
