10-15 year old kids/gamers

So escapists what is your opinion about us. I say "us" because I am in that age group.

We've all played COD before, haven't we? Well remember those kids on the mic who started saying stuff like
the "N-word" trying to act all tough and that.

Escapists, what is your opinion about this age group?

(This is my first thread forgive me for anything i did wrong)

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't use mics in multiplayer.

Anyone younger than 20 and i try to avoid them. But then i play WoW and not CoD and we still use the N word like it's going out of style. Only in game tho for some reason. I have no opinion on you guys cos you are rare in WoW unless your parents are paying monthly for you to game in which case they are pretty effing cool. Gamers are gamers... im not sure age comes into it in most games unless you draw attention to your age.

my dad is 55 years old. he plays shit like COD, Homefront, Halo, Gears, etc. JUUUUUUST to get better than you guys (which he usually does pretty fast) and hear you guys swear and cry about getting fucked. i've been on the phone with him while he does it. it's fuckin hilarious. so what do i think about your age group? you guys need emotional counseling. the biggest babies i've ever heard. seriously, rage-quitting simply because they're being sniped with an MP5 and not an actual rifle...."waaaaaaah, cheater, that's so fucked"

I dunno what wow server you're playing on, but pre-pubescent kids were a dine a dozen when I was playing wow, its actually one of the reasons I quit.

If you are in that age range usualy it doesn't bother me in the slightest, as long as the kids stay away from mics I can't see any reason to care what age one is.

I remember myself at that age, it's a good thing I didn't have access to mics in the games I played. I am sure I was annoying as all hell, as indeed most kids are around that age range, all part of being young.

Either you mouth off like stupid spoilt children, in which case I hate you; or you keep your mouth shut and play properly, in which case I don't know that you're 10-15 years old.

Like that odd little brat whose every other word (almost literally with a few exceptions) was either ****** or Fucknoob.
I know that many adults can be just as bad or even worse, but hearing them squeek like tortured rats when being killed is just gold.

Depends upon the kid. I go from a child to child basis. The woman who puts the wonderful multi-colored stripes in my hair and is a good friend of mine has a son who is thirteen. He is respectful, polite, and a massively awesome nerd in the making. I love this kid.

My ex's younger brother, twelve at the time, now closer to fifteen or sixteen, is whiney, bratty, and irritating. Gets angry when he doesn't get what he wants, is the type of gamer that pretends he has a bad controller when losing, and doesn't have many manners mostly because his family babies him. I dislike this child greatly to put it politely.

So...yeah. Gamers in the range of 10-15, like every other person, has to be taken on a case by case basis.

Also, no I have never play CoD.

Older people can be arseholes too just as much as kids can.

Some kids can actually be quite smart as well, i once played with this 12 year old on borderlands, and normally i would be like "GTFO you stupid kid", but he was quite clever for his age, we even have a talk about people becoming too obsessive with videogames they end up losing their families, or spouses.

Ah you see friend, then you are the kinda person who i'd be happy to game with. As long as theres so shouting and screaming I'm good really (that goes for all ages).

What you will find though is untill you get a bit older it will be better if you only use the mic sparingly, since people will judge you on the sound of your voice. It's not fair I know, but sadly it will happen. Best way to deal with those people is to keep it quiet and just school the hell out of them in the game.

I honestly love to see kids playing games, I bought my 9 year old sister Pokemon Black just recently, as long as they aren't obnoxious I say "Power to 'em."
Just like Jazoni says, you don't have to be an adult to be smart, some kids are pretty cluey and pick up a game pretty quickly, just like some adults will spend hours fumbling around with the XBox controller trying to figure out which button to press to jump.

I put an age group because on other forums this is the age group that is most hated.

Well, we can't blame them. It's not their fault they're too young to know that TIMESPLITTERS IS BETTER.

But actually I'd like to see more younger gamers experience a wider range of games. Try playing anything. There's even a massive pile of older games you can get for cheap at shops like Gamestation or CEX. The only thing I wouldn't play is sports games.

nah, i doubt it was him. he's not the kind of asshole to shittalk kids, even online where it would be considered just normal anyway. he kinda just laughs about it and says he's gonna find out where they live and see if their parents know they talk like that. or he says he'll teach them some REAL curse words, but only if they promise to learn to play the game better.

I disagree,
I'm 14 and I assure you, I am fully aware of how awesome timesplitters is (my friend has a copy of future perfect on his gamecube, I'm so f*cking jealous).
Most of the kids in my class at school are the very demographic we all hate: stupid brats who get their parents to pay for Live subscriptions so they can shout the N word at a TV screen for hours on end, it's hilarious how much they suck at the only game they play.

To avoid them I play on PC and stick to COD4 for my multiplayer fix (I pretty much only play with my clan, all of whom are really nice (possibly because the age limit to join is 16... but shh).

and btw, I'd prefer if they stick to COD black ops, I'm happy playing Thief and Deus ex for now.

to OP: I believe they deserve to have their mics taken away from them. Actually scratch that, get rid of their gaming systems.
