Killer 7 Film.

Directed by Quentin Tarentino.

I'm not sure who would act in it...maybe Samuel Jackson as Garcian, Brad Pitt as Dan, Uma Therman as Kaede, Dan Dyer as Kevin and I'm not sure about the rest
God... not samuel l jackson... Jamie Foxx would be better.
oooh, yeah that does sound better, although I would like to see a "goody two shoes" actor like Will Smith be in a Quentin Tarentino film...look what it did to John Travolta

IF F.E.A.R. was done correctly, i think it would make a rather excellent horror movie, but alas, no such thing will happen.
Wouldn't work, unfortunately. FEAR worked because we were invested in the character, despite him barely being a character at all. That doesn't work in film, so they'd have to either:
A)Flesh out the Pointman as a character
or
B)Scrap the pointman and have it based on Jin or Holiday, or some original characters

Neither of those will work; for the first, it would ruin many memories of the Pointman, as he would inevitably be different from many people's notions of how he was. For the second, he (as Alma's son) was essential to the story, so they can't get rid of him.
While I do think you hit the problem with making a F.E.A.R movie right on the head, making such a movie isn't out the realm of possibility. If I reamember correctly the movie Doom was able to make Doom-man (that's his name, right?) into a fleshy character with a sister and everything, so if they could make him "human" why not pointman?

However in the case of Alma and any of her apperances in the movie, I fear (no pun intended) that an idiot director or writer would make her too much like a Ring or Grudge rip off. Now I am aware that she is a ghost and moves like her ghosty "cousins", but if they mess up her back story so that they are practiclly the same then its obvious that it will turn away serious fans of the series
I see what you're saying, but the Doom example wasn't a good one, as that movie sucked and changed far too much of the story. As for the second part, you're absolutely right. She's already enough like the girl in the Ring (I think that was intentional) for some moviegoers and critics to think she is a rip-off. Exploring her backstory would be essential, but it would ruin the feel if it gets spoonfed by some Author's Convienience. In other words, it's a very slippery slope with both main characters. I really don't think it's worth it.

Why don't they make a movie about the console wars, where Jackie Chan will play Miyamoto, John Goodman is Jack Tretton, and Jackie Early Haley is Peter Moore.

When you are right, you are right my friend. However, with hollywood's sad reputation as a slut, I wouldn't put it past them to take our cash and give us trash

They should re-do the Resident Evil movies, but with Chris Redfield, Jill Valintine, Albert Wesker, and Barry Burton during the Mansion investigation, then a second during the Racoon City incident with Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy.

That guys' Director/Actor combos are downright atrocious. Christian Bale as Solid Snake? Emile Hirsch as Dante? Poor man's Luca- err, J.J. Abrams directing Metal Gear Solid? The fucking COEN BROTHERS doing Fallout 3?? Everything about that editor scream "TOOL!" from every orifice.

It's almost as if he made a list of the top ten most talked about games and directors, and just slapped names together. In fact, I'm sure he did just that.
Metal Gear's already in the works anyway. It's a shame they didn't go with David Hayter's script, but hopefully it will still be good.
Indeed. Watchmen is proof that David Hayter can write a damn good script.

I don't really see why games should be adapted into movies in general. They are made for their own medium and there's always a big drop in quality with the translation.

Also, I think that we need to scratch anything with a significant amount of freedom right off the list, especially if there's a significant morality system. I can guarantee that there will be ten times as much ham in the hands of the people who make the movie than those that make the game if they translate the morality system.

I disagree with most of them EXCEPT for Bioshock, Fallout 3, and inFAMOUS. Those have alot of potential.

AHHHHHHH! NO! Bad Squirrel! We don't need any Samus/Ridely shipping.

My brain is bleeding now, I hope you're happy.
1. I am, very happy indeed
2. you know there probably if a fan fiction of that shipping, after all GrievousXShaak Ti managed to be shipped and they are only slightly less of a crime against nature than SamusXRidely.
3. I could probably give a couple of lines from a supposed fan fiction even XD
At least Grievous and Shaak Ti both have a general humanoid shape. I don't think it's anywhere as bad as SamusXRiddley.

Ridley is a big space dragon thing and is about ten times bigger than Samus. I'd be like shipping someone with a horse.

a brothers in arms movie. a world war II movie based on a game. that would be a first.
Nope. I wouldn't want that. The game focused a lot on translating Saving Private Ryan on a game, so there would still be a lot of similarities to it.

OH! Also...

Fatal Frame - Directed by Takeshi Miike
No for condemned. Starring Greg Gunberg, considering he was voiced by him and he looks like him

One game I think would be cool as a movie (and actually good) is Second Sight. Maybe that's what they need to do; go with games that weren't big hits.
But then that takes away the entire idea behind making movies based on games. They're cash-ins.

An animated team fortress 2 movie would be awesome, just look at the "meet the..." trailers. Half life is another contender. Battlefield bad company would make a decent film too, if done with the right balance of humour and action. I would of said hitman and max payne aswell but OH WAIT SOMEBODY ALREADY DID THEM!...and they were shit ¬¬.

gears of war with a horrorist twist I.E. Maybe your following a civillian which is followed by locusts and stuff. P.S. I personally think the movie industry should lock its inbred cousin (gaming industry) up in a cage, ocassionaly giving it a pock but aside from that leaving it alone... simplified im saying that the gaming guys shouldnt rip off the movie stuff and should make movies about games instead
