11-11-11, screw that!

This morning felt like Christmas.
Yesterday I received a e-mail that my Xbox360 copy of Skyrim was handed over to the delivery company.
Naturally I figured it was going to stay there until 11-11-11.
But a little bit of me hoped it might just arrive today, the 9th.

And yup.
I got my copy of skyrim and I'm currently on pause during the intro sequence.

I'm not going to name the store that send me the copy early.
But I promise you, I just ordered it off their website.

So, what are your thoughts on stores releasing the game earlier then elsewhere?

It's probably not a good idea to tell people that you got it early.

I can bet that at least 40% of people who see your thread here are already writing pleading letters / Threats to get it off you :v

I reckon it shouldn't be done for unlock-format multiplayer. I am really getting sick of buying a game, and being screwed over by the release date difference. A lot of the time Americans and such are already much higher in level, and therefore much higher on the gear ladder. I understand that the only reason developers use the unlock format so much is because they're piss scared their shite cookie-cutter MP modes don't have any staying power without it, but it's more boring to go up against xXpR0_3mLg33rotflolXx with the basic stuff while he runs around with shit like MW2's heartbeat sensor and dual wielding machine pistols.

So, in summary, I don't mind different release dates as it just gets me more excited, but multiplayer suffers for it.

My copy of Arkham City arrived from Amazon a day early, it did make feel a bit smug as my friend was still waiting for his copy. My opinion is that if it happens, then great, but I can always wait for the street release day. As painfully slow that seems to come around sometimes.

i have heard stories of people who are expected to get this today in their mail.. guess the mail outlets didnt want to play with that stupid 11-11-11 bit. Its a ploy to spark sales to the stores because usually games and media are released on Tuesdays.

Edit: Sadly I have to pick mine up on a day where I'm already very busy. (Train station, university exam, library, train station, airport, train station, shopping centre, home, more study and no Skyrim playing)

To be honest, I agree.
It's not even a Huge store chain, like say Gamestop.
It's a relative small, Dutch-only store.
