I'm gonna buy some popcorn, slap in my 2012 DVD, and laugh at Danny Glover dying when an aircraft carrier lands on his head.

Then I'll go to bed and wonder what all the fuss was ever about.

Expect presents.. from the sky.. MADE OF FLAMING ROCK..

OT: Seriously, though.. 2012 is a bunch of Brahmin shit, but it's more of the human aspect of it I'm worried about. Humans seem to have a marked propensity for making a really big deal out of fairy stories, I hope nobody does anything stupid..

Could happen I guess.

I mean my NFL team is not only winning but doing so decisively, mind you, LAST YEAR this is the same team that would have had a good season to just break even, this season, they're not only 9-5, they got there by beating some of the best teams in the NFL.

could be a sign of end times....
I think the biggest "The hell?" moments of the 2012 NFL season is how you guys managed to lose to the Lions. Because holy god are we awful
Well it was a road game, the hawks always do better at home, hell they're 6-0 at home this year.

still o.0 I'm not used to them winning like this, or getting praise from the media, its very strange.

One word. Leap years!

Alright... two words, I suppose.
What do you mean? The thingie where the Mayans don't have leap years? If so, I just want to point out that what you're saying makes no logical sense at all, take a look at this thoughtfully provided video.

Professor Lupin Madblood said:
Mayans don't have leap years, yes, because they don't need leap years. It's the same reason that if I told you "30 days from now" it wouldn't matter if the current month has 28/29/30/31 days, since you can work out the date anyway.

Yeah, the NFL is a strange thing week to week. Like how the Patriots demolish the Texans one week, then lay an egg against the 49'ers.

And two, we kinda beat you guys twice in the last year. One by beating you, and two, by letting Matt Flynn throw for 10,000,000 yards against us when we were hunting for a playoff seeding.

Yeah I know, but that game caused Matt Flynn's stock to skyrocket, causing you guys to spend 26 million on him. Hahahahaha!!!!! MOST EXPENSIVE BACKUP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

[sub][sub]I'm sorry, we just got clobbered by the Cardinals today. I'm depressed, slightly drunk, and taking whatever victories I can find, however small they are[/sub][/sub]

That's the thing.

We KNOW people are going to do stupid things. Like that group in America that sold everything they own when that daft bastard proclaimed the end of the world on his radio.

And that's the kind of shit i'm looking forward to reading on Saturday morning.

Braden: In the past few years, our own science has made a radical, revolutionary discovery that changes everything about the way we think of ourselves and the world. What they found is that when we create heart-based feelings of gratitude, appreciation, care?literally, using the muscle of the heart to create these feelings?what we?re actually doing is generating a magnetic field inside our bodies that is part of the magnetic field of the Earth that undergoes the change.
Yeah, i stopped there.

as for the end of the world thing.
well, here we are having record winds, snow whirpools that never existed before and i litteraly saw a car burried in snow while driving and having to go out and dig the snow away. twice. my whole house is "Roaring" from the wind. the end is near :p

I don't understand why people who are asked about the end of the world always analyze the science involved and then conclude it's not going to happen. As if our knowledge of science is complete, and as if the only way it could happen would be via an entity or happening observable by us or our technology prior to the event. The Mayans didn't make their prediction using the same assumptions about the world as we have. I'm not an expert on Mayan culture but I'm pretty sure they had a vastly different view of the world from us, with a different notion of being. We can't assume their knowledge about an End would be capable of being apprehended by us.

It's kind of like measuring the temperature of water with a ruler.
yeah I'm sure the mayans had knowlege of the universe greater than ours.....with their rocks..and chisels

Science isn't the only form of understanding. If it were, then we couldn't have possibly developed it. Its very existence depends upon a very particular type of pre-scientific human understanding, one which clearly differed from that of the Mayans.

You've been reading/watching too much science fiction.

I would hope that proponents of science (which I am) understand the significance and limitations of the field. Unfortunately experience tells me otherwise.
