Ok guys, don't think I'm a bad person but I laughed when I read this... I hate myself
Yet another moment where this song can make something horrible and vile hilarious.

Oh great, now videogames rape our children too. Because, you know, obviously the videogames are to blame, not the rapist.

Aside from the many punny Fox News headlines I've got running through my head, I wish that kids had some more respect for elders. Tease a classmate, a sibling, not a man twice your age. And for chrissake, you're 26!!! Jesus christ, with an attitude and maturity level like that, I hope he's in jail for a long time to he can hopefully change his ways and grow the fuck up.

I'd dearly love to be the kind of person blaming video-games for this, simply because it's really easy to do so, but seriously, video-games don't have an effect on any ones behavior, unless that person allows it.

Having said that, and even though the kid was probably being a mouthy little shit, there is NOTHING that child could have said to warrant being raped. Nothing.

Two lessons can be learned from this, however.
1) Parents seriously need to teach their children to keep their attitudes to themselves because, while this particular instance was a MASSIVE over-reaction, and I hope the idiot responsible get his arms broken, kids these days don't know when to shut the fuck up, nor do they have any respect... for anyone.

and

2) When your reaction to being teased, no matter how relentlessly is to RAPE the twelve year old teasing you with a Wii remote, you shouldn't even be allowed within five miles of a video-game.

I'll admit it, I laughed. I feel so bad. XD

Well, the 26 year old will get to play with Bubba's Wii soon.

I freakin' called it. I really did. When I first bought my Wii, I took one look at my controller and said "Yep, some tween is going to be raped by this". They should have listened. I will never wii-bowl the same way again.

Also, this can't be good for Nintendo's press.

I'm sure some of us, at some point in our lives, have been sat in a house somewhere having a game of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat or the like and lost to friend who then mocked.

I'm sure some of us have said at some point, "if you don't piss off, i'm going to shove that controller up your arse".

It's a general saying, a lot of us have said it at some point .... Now i'm never going to be able to look at that saying in the same light.

Rape is a despicable, horrible act, one of the worst known to mankind.
Having said that, mouthy pre-teens need to know when to shut the hell up and have some respect for their elders. Hopefully this is a lesson for everyone.
You know what this is? This is the result of all that "Think of the children" bullshit. Kids don't get proper discipline anymore and thus become smart mouthed little shits. Not that that in any way excuses what Perry did of course. Now if you'll excuse me, I suddenly feel the need to sanitize my Wii-remotes.

Off topic:
Captcha:

Is that some kind of attack from Street Fighter?

As terrifying and sickening as that was, my first thought on the situation was "Oh shit, shitstorm inbound."

ITT: People blaming the child for instigating, people blaming the adult for not being responsible, people saying both were at fault, and finally, people saying either side was awesome for different reasons.
Yep, you've summed it up quite nicely.

And it's posts like this that remind me of why I really hate certain elements of gamer culture. We get it, it's annoying when little kids go online and start shouting obscenities -- but it's not anywhere near as annoying as when a grown man does it. I've seen kids doing it once or twice. Adults do it all the freakin' time. Also, when it involves kids, I've had good success getting them to calm down because I'm an adult, a pre-service teacher, and I know how to get kids to listen to me. Seriously, all you guys whining about screaming pre-teens are just proving that you have no idea how to handle kids, or that you are kids yourselves. It's not /that/ difficult.

Wishing horrible things on kids because their parents are absent and you aren't mature enough to handle the situation? Yeah, that reflects well on both you and gamers as a whole.].
Its not that its over the mic, when kids are asses all the time, then their asses all the time. Parents just don't seem to want to make them respect elders, and many, many kids won't respect their elders because parents don't want to teach that. I have seen kids push ladies who had bloody walkers, seen them steal canes from old men, seem them be, sorry to use this words, pure cunts. I've seen them try to set fires, and then just left when I came to put it out, seem them pull knives on each other, and on me, seen them be despicable bastards. Its a good lesson for a kid to learn when to not speak. Does not mean this guy doesn't deserve what he gets, he deserves anything he gets, just parents should teach their kids right from wrong, not how to be wrong.

EDIT:

Second of all, the concept that because a person is older that they are somehow more deserving of respect is ridiculous.
I'm sorry, but thats the problem right there, they end up becoming prick, does anyone remember Adolf? Well, he hated Jews, now lets just turn down the endless murders and change that to the guys who steal from old ladies then shoot their cats, then we have what happens when this lesson happens. All humans deserve respect, even just minimal amounts, but they do.

These adult gamers are proving themselves to be utter badasses when it comes to little kids these days, huh. I dunno, what do they find so appealing about beating up children? It just seems like such a hollow victory to me.

And I'm saying, as a person who works with kids on a regular basis, and is only a year or so out from completing the training needed to do it for a living, that even if the parents refuse to actually do any parenting, it's really not that hard to get a kid's respect -- especially if they're still pre-teens. Older teens are another story, but it's still doable. Gamers are just bad at it, for some reason.

Yeesh.

You'd think a bit of yelling would have sufficed.

You forgot to add the whole "Video games drive people to commit rape crimes", "video games drive people to violence".

That being said, we can now properly /thread.

Although on a side note, I don't think many people will come to this thread and say the kid is awesome for being raped with a will remote.
Don't forget the "I'm sick of this world", "I hate humanity" and "Can't wait to leave this planet" groups as well.

That is disgusting. There is no justification for rape and that is, in my opinion, the worst thing you can do to someone. Yes, the kid was mouthy but there are a million different ways to deal with it and he chose the worst one. Hope he gets severely punished.

Another black sheep on the image of gaming. I just hope this doesn't lead to more 'gaming incourages rape' B.S.

Also, have fun in the showers at prison. Where you, will be the helpless one.

Hilarious and confusing. Knowing how this society views rape and pedophillia he picked the stupidest retaliation he could have. Even a full on beating would have been a more pragmatic answer.

How does rape by toy even get put on the table of ways to respond to being teased?

So I wonder what they were teasing him about...
