It isn't reserved for 12 yr olds. Mic jackasses come in all ages, races, nationalities and genders. I would like to ask where the parents are though. Not so much because they annoy me but online adventuring is not always the safest.Sion_Barzahd said:God forbid i can't believe i'm defending 12 year olds; but its not even all 12 year olds on games who use mics that are the problems. Its just the screaming demanding, rude and all-out vulgar ones.
Yes congratulations you've insulted your mother over the internet, made a derogitory remark and yelled profanity, which has left an unforgivable stain on the insides of my ear drums.
These types of kids, regardless of age or pitch of voice, shouldn't be allowed mic usage.
The sensible ones, who can maturely use their mics should by all means join in with the in-game chatter. To me its a matter of mental age over real age.
Also i'd like to say, if you're one of the kids i described in the 2nd paragraph i urge you to find some heavy traffic to play in.
The kids that do use the mic just want to yell at someone and not have any real retaliation. Plus its not like the guy on the other end is going to tell the kids mom he said a bad word.thefire said:Ok i dont want to start a flame war or anything and i would like to clarify that i have nothing against young kids that game but do they really not get that if they dont use a mic no one would know their age.
I used to play BF2 when i was 12 and i never used a mic and no one ever asked me my age, i dont know if they dont realise or just dont care.
Do people realise that without any personal information anyone can be any age on the internet?
Whats really bad is most of us that have experienced such know this is actually rather mild in nature compared to what goes on too. Also this makes me think it would be funny as hell if some ranter on a game was arguing with the computer from Portal.Fox KITSUNE said:If it's not "little" or I like to call them Immature acting kids online it's "Xbox Live Thugs" that I can't stand. So I use the all mighty power of the mute button but I got to admit it's funny to hear them bannter on or attack each other.
Alittle OT: I'm sorry but I gotta post this....case in point refer to the video...
Hehe this reminds me of me, my girlfriend, and my friend Chris...buy teh haloz said:I'll be honest, I tend to take it easy with online games, but this is coming from a 16 year old guy. Even when I was 12, I thought online gaming was a fun little diversion to the single player storyline which I thought (and still think) is the overall meat and potatoes of a game. When I grew up and gained access to a headset when I bought a 360, i didn't care enough to use it unless I was playing with friends.
12 year old kids happen to be a bit more INVOLVED in the game more than anything. They take the game so seriously they end up sounding like a bunch of twats. IT'S JUST A FUCKING GAME PEOPLE. I don't get pissed when I get beaten in say... Halo 3. I just kick back and say, "great game". If only everyone did this more often. More people would enjoy the game instead of *****.
Oh by the way, before I go, I leave you with this.

Priorities. Where do yours lie?
This is one of the worst things with mic conversations. My friend lost that little furry cap for his 360 mic (i still strongly believe he ate it.) He is the heaviest breather i'd ever met.thefire said:you dont hear people breathing into their headset which is really creepy.
this. mental age is all that it should be aboutthefire said:I aggree with the 'mental age' thing.Sion_Barzahd said:God forbid i can't believe i'm defending 12 year olds; but its not even all 12 year olds on games who use mics that are the problems. Also i think push button talk should be compulsary as it:
a. makes it harder to talk and
b. you dont hear people breathing into their headset which is really creepy.
