I never really saw the point of it. I mean... isn't it faster to type like... y'know... you actually have a functioning brain?

I'm fine with 1337 speak. It doesn't bother me, if it's involved in a niché gaming culture you aspire too, then be my guest. It's like a traditional club secret language in some ways, I think it's rather cute.
I'm not a fan. Its difficult to write, its difficult to read. Also the overuse of LOL does get annoying. This may be because I am an English student in college. It may be because I want to be a writter. Its just improper grammer and not proper English.

I dislike lol, but I honestly can't see what is wrong with leet speak. People never seem to take the middle ground (who I know) it's either all leet and memes, even IRL. Or it's the spawn of the devil and should never desecrate their ears with it's non-Queen's Englishness.
