That's my theory.
The first thing I thought while reading this. Which is probably bad on my part.

i might as well have thought of doing this, as i'm sure others in whatever other work or school environment that can inspire depression might have.
from the perspective of this kid, i must have to conclude that he actually thought this decision true, however saddening it might be. suicide will happen, and there is very little you can do to stop someone from doing it who has truly made up their decision about their own life, unless they are cruelly misinformed.

all the "GUNS IN AMERICA" and "14 YR. OLD IN ELEMENTARY?" stuff is almost equally irrelevant.

and once again, 14 is far into the age of reason. it wasn't an accident, it was a decision he made to end his life there.

The real question is, how the hell did a 14 year old get a hold of a gun!? jesus Christ, do American's just give them out free to everyone?!
Not everyone. Just US citizens.

See, we're trying to get this thing going where we have some stupid people do things, and let the ignorant foreigners judge our entire country, all 313,000,000(ish) of us, based on the few things they hear/read about.

This also helps those living in the absolutely perfect countries, such as yours, to feel better about who they are, where they live, and who they live around.

Is it working?
I don't know man, where I live (Australia) shit like this doesnt happen on a daily basis, the gun crime - suicide thing, and I seem to hear an awful lot about this stuff happening in America all the time.

But what do I know, I'm just an ignorant foreigner right?

Because it happens here every day, right? Every single day, a teen takes a firearm to school and blows their brains out. It's amazing that there are even children in the US, what with them all killing themselves.

And you hear about that shit all the time because it gets whatever media source you hear it from some attention. Not because we're all too busy shooting ourselves and each other to do some good.

But, hey, at least you understand your place. At the end of the day, you're just another uninformed person that doesn't know what their talking about. Another person basing their opinion of an entire country on the things they hear about in the news. People like you make me love my country, because it isn't full of people like you.

Perhaps, but a quick google search on gun crimes in America reveals that '83 Average number of Americans killed by guns EVERYDAY' and '34,000 Average number of Americans killed by guns EVERY YEAR'. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-rosenthal/us-gun-violence-by-the-nu_b_139879.html

You can chalk that up to the large population meaning a larger number of deaths, or you can blame the massive proliferation of guns. But I can assure you, these statistics are nowhere near Australia's. Again, it could be the population, or just the fact that there are more guns.

Another point I'd like to mention, when in Australia the Port Arthur Massacre happened, when 35 or so people where killed by a crazy guy with guns, new gun control laws were introduced very quickly, and there hasnt been something like that since.

But in America, stuff like the Columbine shootings and the Virginia Tech shootings just keeps happening! Jesus, shit keeps happening, people keep dieing and the laws don't change!

But hey, I'm just an ignorant foreigner right?

Your source hasn't been relevant, or correct, for four years now.

We've also got about 290,000,000 more people than Australia, so yeah, statistically, we're going to have things like that happen more often. It isn't like massive shootings occur all the time. Only once every few years. And this particular case is one stupid teen.

And you are aware that after the stricter gun laws in Australia, gun crime increased, right? The buyback program did nothing to stop people with unregistered guns from committing crimes. Suicide rates using a firearm went down, while suicide rates using means such as hanging and drug poisoning went up.

But it's cool. Keep listening to the media reports that only report on the negative because it gets them higher ratings. Just keep ignoring facts to try to prove....whatever it is you're trying to prove....What was it again? You don't seem to really have a point.

I thought it was fairly clear that my point was that Americans are borderline moronic about their gun laws.

Wait...

Elementary school? 14? 8th grade?

What?!
8th grade is considered elementary level. Teachers are certified that way, school used to end at that point. Nothing odd there.
Here, 8th grade is right before high school.
