I don't advocate the use of either. It just seems to me that a reassessment of the impact of each substance on society needs to be done.

Example one: How many times have you heard of an person being abused by a spouse who was smoking pot? Take the same example with alcohol.
Example two: In vehicle accidents, what is more commonly heard/read: driver was high or drunk?
Example three: Long term health effects. Its proven that alcohol destroys your liver, brain and capilaries, depending on the amount of consumption obviously. Whereas, people who get high are more likely to just suffer from a somewhat expanding waistline do to realizing how delicious everything has become.

For example: Hitler killed millions of Jews and other minorities, BUT Stalin killed HUNDREDS of millions of HIS OWN PEOPLE!!

2) Just becasuse someone got high, on a specific day, that someone decided was Pot Day you blame all pot-heads for it?

3) If that guy got high and killed your friend on say Christmas, would you be pissed if I celebrate Christmas?

4) To re-iterate someone elses point: Just because something bad happened on a specific day, no one should do anything enjoyable on that day? you do realize that something like 150 people die every MINUTE! plus like 300 people are born every minute, some of those may grow up to be like Stalin or Hitler

SO by your logic no one should ever celebrate or enjoy any day....EVER!

5) There is extremely little logic in this whole fucking thread, Ignorance and difference in opinion is running rampant and pretty much all of you are acting like fucking retards....

being of german descent this is insulting. anyone who says that hitler was the worst thing born into existance should maybe look into the issue instead of trusting the media and bias sources. Remember history is written by the victor, if he isnt demonized then how can people justify trying to kill him. Sure the guy did a horrific thing in scapegoating the jews and killing millions but seriously buddy, the whole jewish thing didnt come around till later, after he was set in power. The man invented universal healthcare. He brought a country out of a bigger depression any north americans ever felt. Sure he was bad but not completely, he was VOTED into office the same way any president or prime minister is, because people believed in him and he provided.

Also by this logic shouldnt we all hate Alfred Nobel. I mean the man invented dynamite, which, if i approximate correctly, has killed more people than hitler ever did...

Taken in context of the argument we were having, I was showing Chief the logical fallacy of blaming the rise of Hitler on weed.

My time is not valuable in any way. So you haven't really wasted it.

As for venting against marijuana, sounds like a good idea. Y'know, if you were upset about your friend.

There is more to 420 then JUST those events. The whole celebration was centered around Marijuana by many, and If I'm not mistaken, it is also the day that the first Marijuana leaf was smoked, and even rumored to be the Famous Bob Marley's Birthday. Keep an open mind, there is always more to the story than what you might think.

The reason that it wasn't particularly publicized is that he won his insanity plea. He only had to spend 9 months in a mental institution.

That's even more unusual, since insanity defenses usually work very poorly, especially with things like intoxication that clearly do NOT fit the definition of insanity.

He had severe asperger's syndrome and his lawyer contributed his drug habit to it.

I have asperger's syndrome, and I have no problem functioning in the world.

if he was to impared to function in the world then he certanly could not drive a car.
