18th Birthday Ideas

Since this is the Escapist, I suggest a LAN party or otherwise video-game themed party. For a friend's eighteenth, one of the festivities was a giant "boys vs. girls Soul Calibur II team tournament." It was amazingly fun, and got surprisingly intense. [sub]And us ladies won, of course.[/sub]

If you want to do something fun/unusual... maybe do a Halloween-style costume party to add to the insanity? Even better... go out and do something fun in said costumes (like Laser Tag!), which is always good for a bit of amusement.

Due to unreliable friends, I pub-crawled with my brother's friends. The rule here is you as birthday boy DO NOT pay for any drinks. Full stop.

Went better than expected I must say, but I'm sure someone around here can recommend a better way of doing it.

I had a house party and got extremely drunk with lots of people. We locked all the valuables in an upstairs room and made sure only people I know well came.
It was a gooood evening. No details...

That was on the weekend after. On the actual day I got drunk with a smaller group in the afternoon at college, then went on a pub crawl.

I invited pretty much everyone I knew to a house party for my 18th, as we were all going our seperate ways because it was also the end of our last year at school together.
The bottom line is it's your birthday so do what you like doing, if you like drinking go to a bar, if you like parties, organise one.
