18th, need help!

Basically, I have a dilemma. It is my 18th birthday very soon and I really cannot think of anything to do for it. I have thought about a house party but I don't really know what kind of entertainment to put on etc. Basically if you guys have any ideas, no matter how daft, please help me out and post any ideas you have. All help will be much appreciated.

The standard idea is either an embarrassing party with family, or a night out with mates.

Sorry I cant offer any advice here, I vanished for the day on my 18th to avoid the two events stated above.

You really don't have to worry about entertainment - as long as there's a steady flow of alcohol, people will entertain themselves.

Just throw on some good music and it'll be fine.

have a meal with your family, chill out and relax, your 18th doesn't need to be the best night of your life. those happen later.

besides a house party only needs lots of alcohol, and preferably someone in the house sober.

If you're thinking of inviting people over all you really need is enough alcohol and types of alcohol to meet different people's tastes and an ipod dock so people can put music on and change it without having to mess about with CDs etc. Oh and snacks, throw a few bags of crisps and whatnot on some tables so people can pick at them.

It's what I tend to do when people come over for parties and works pretty well.

I just went out for a meal with mates then pub after.
The following day a load of family game over.

If you can have a big party then sure, go for it but I was happy with my little gathering. I mean, there are plenty of other times for parties

Really? I thought that was an otter...slick moves though.

To be honest, I didn't really do anything with mates on my 18th, on account of my exams being two days away. I just had a larger meal than usual with the rest of the family and that was that. Most of my friends have celebrated 18th's with some kind of camping party, which was always a laugh. Perhaps you could try that, if you can find space for multiple tents and maybe a fire.

Hang out with your friends? Seriously thats all I did for my 18th birthday. Play video games and eat a shit load of snacks and drinks. Was it impressive? No, but it sure as hell was fun. And isn't that what matters?
