Oh yes, the wonders of the 1950's where all that civil rights nonsense about equality and stuff was still violently suppressed, the KKK had quite a membership, people were separated along lines of race and gender, and all those dirty liberals etc. didn't challenge the absolute authority of god, family values, and puritanical sexual morality.

Truly it was an age of great discrimination and conformity! Got to wonder why some people wouldn't want that back? Especially when most of the problems mentioned with today are absurd exaggerations?

Scenario 9:
Jill scores top of her class and decides to run for Class President.
1959 - Teachers and councelors persuade her to run for Class Secretary instead. She loses interest and focuses on Home-Ed where she knows she will be encouraged.
2009 - After winning, her teachers and councelors encourage her to follow her dreams and possibly even become the first female President. If some other motivated girl doesn't get there first.
Scenario 10:
jack finds out he is attracted to men and things johny is flirting with him and decides to kiss him while they are alone
1959- jack gets beaten by johny and from then on he gets teased and abused by classmates until e commits suicide
2009- johny tells jack that he is not gay but the two remain friends and jack grows up to be a gay man with possitive self-esteem that positively contributes to society

bullshit.

unless you are living in some little alternate universe where people don't get picked on for being different, that is bullshit.

Im guessing you didn't see the news where a student committed suicide because he was gay and while he was having sex his "friends" placed a hidden camera in his dorm then released the video to the university.

Common sense is a great thing to have, isn't it?

also, great way to bring up a chain letter from 2007, not like we didnt read it or hear about it from our teachers or co-workers.

and yes, I first heard this in 2007 in metal shop, period 7.
i agree, this is kind of a idealistic example of 2009 but i was mainly trying to point out that back in 1959 a gay/ lesbian could be openly tormented, beaten, or lynched with little to no repercussions even in the most liberals states while today people are allowed to be openly gay with little to no worries about being abused. when i was in high school i had openly bi friends as well as gay friends and only the super conservatives would bash them but in return others would come to their defense, something you would never see in 1959 or even 1989 for that matter

i admit, i exaggerated but it was to prove a point. im sorry if i must remain 100% factual for you like the original examples provided by the publisher *insert sarcasm here*

The Final Scenario, Dawn Of The Black Night, The Wailing Master

1959; The final stages of the sacred circle are aligned, a billion screaming angels cry blood down perfect faces. The concept of hope dies, as the half-century long birth of the devourer begins. Every soul is damned, each life is blackened by the passing of the Moment of Ruin

2009; A flight of ten thousand arch-angels makes war in the clouds and molten metal scars the land as fury ignites the sky. They fail, the End Of Times consumes the world.

I hope we all learned something here today.

The last panel seemed appropriate.

To the first part, I've seen it happen other times then just when it happend to me, but again, not every fight is that way. Just it can be. Its not as farfetched as you would believe, but again, you just havent experienced it, so I can understand.

To the second part, eh, different strokes for different blokes. Everyone has a different way of raising kids. I mainly got to run around since my mom always worked and my dad, uncle, and grandfather wnated me outside to "get a little dirty" while following the motto "no blood no tears". Thats not to say I was abused or mistreated, just that they figured I'd learn quick enough from mistakes when I make them. Besides, when we started play with acid we were already a few years into our teens, and had raced a freight train so many times that one of us lost our legs cause of it.
