Huh, I wonder if George R. R. Martin has anything to do with this. He was a writer/producer on the first series, and the recent success of Game of Thrones might have tipped the scales on this reboot.

Ron Perelman? That's it, I'm off to YouTube. If it looks good, over to the internet to find a dvd I can get.

They better get someone in Ron Perlman's and Linda Hamilton's class to play the main characters or I'll get angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. (TROLLNYSTAN SMASH!)

Ron Perlman made that show awesome, and dayum he was sexy as Vincent. *girlish sigh*
Pbbbth. When is Ron Perlman not sexy? Even when he had a mouth full of metal teeth in Enemy at the Gates he was sexy. And this coming from a heterosexual male.
I went and looked up a gallery with pictures from films he's been in and you're absolutely right. Damn men and their ability to be hella sexy when they have technically unattractive features! And that voice... Those eyes!

Still, Vincent was one of my first crushes =P

"headdesk". I didn't even see the original series to be honest, but I can't see how this will end well at all.

To those who saw it, was Ron Perlman his normal gravelly voiced, lovable self? If so I might have to check it out.

Ron Pearlman, or GTFO.

..Also, anyone else getting the newest disney (monstrosity against film-making) version of Beauty and the Beast with Mr. Halliburton model and Ms. Hudgens vibe yet..?

Not impressed.

Please let the cast not be a bunch of whiny teenagers.

... Who am I even kidding? Its definitely going to be a bunch of whiny teenagers (or twenty-somethings that act like whiny teenagers) and the "beast" is going to have some kind of "deformity" that he thinks is "horrific", but is really something girls find extremely attractive.

I feel rage coming on when I consider how they'll butcher this with a vapid starlet in skimpy outfits and some manufactured heartthrob type.

Let's face it, nobody but Ron Perlman is Ron Perlman, but the least they could do is cast someone that isn't Edward in cat makeup.

Wasn't CW the channel that made The Vampire Diaries? That show's really good if you're after some teen drama with vampires. It's like they looked at Twilight and said; "Come on! This is shit, we could do better!" and then they did.
I haven't seen the Vampire Diaries, but if it is good, I can tell you why. It is based on a series of books by the same name published in the mid to late ninties by a lady named LJ Smith. She wrote some of my favorite books from when I was a teen; my favorite series was called the Deadly Game, or the Game, I cant remember which. The were subtitled The Hunt, The Chase, and The Kill. The Night World series was awesome too.

Read them, then read Twilight. You will definitly like LJ Smith's stuff more. Her books have the same supernatural hottie meets normal guy/girl romance stuff.

The moment I saw the words "it's going to be on CW" I lost all hope of this being good. God I hate the CW.

without Ron Perelman's voice and acting talent, it just won't be the same, I imagine it will sink faster than the Lusitania
