Apparently 2.2 Million PSN members credit card details are up for sale. While Sony still says it has no evidence that credit card details were stolen, Kevin Stevens, an online security expert, says that the details are up for sale on the illegal forums of "carders" (people engaged in credit card fraud).

Full story on Kotaku [http://uk.kotaku.com/5796902/there-are-22-million-psn-members-credit-card-details-up-for-sale]

Might want to get changing those details folks :/

Sort of glad I didn't :D
I did buy stuff off mine, but lucky for me the card I last used on it expired so I'm safe.

I know it was Sony's job to protect user data but this is the kinda risk you take when you put or use personal information online.

I've only ever bought one thing and it was with a PSN card, so I guess I'm safer?
Yeah you should be fine then, but of course they still got your name, address etc etc if you put all that on your PS3. Not that they'll come and hunt you down anyway.

Eh, Kotaku. Judging from the exaggerated headline conflicting at some point with the actual story, I call bull on this one.

Needlessly sensationalist headline.

I doubt there is a great deal of honour-among-thieves on the internet.
If you're meaning my headline, I'm just following what Kotaku said :p

I hope those sellers are full of shit...

I've only ever used PSN cards 'cause they always seemed easy and now I'm glad I did.

Claims to have the CVV (or whatever you refer to them as) for sale too and after checking with a few of my friends, who buy a lot on PSN, neither myself or any of them have ever had to provide it, so I'm going to claim it as bullshit until proven otherwise.

Sony stated themselves that they NEVER EVER required or stored the CVC code (or whatever it's name) in their system. At all.
I call bull on that one. I trust sony more than a vague Kotaku post!

I will see if i can find the link to the message from sony to back up my post in a minute.

Edit: This was taken straight from the FAQ Sony posted:
Q: Was my credit card data taken?
A: While all credit card information stored in our systems is encrypted and there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code, sometimes called a CVC or CSC number) and expiration date may have been obtained.
So yea, Security code was not obtained.
