I got 200 dollars to burn. I got paid for playing video games and feel I got som karma to go round so I'm left with 200 dollars to splurge after gifts for friends.

Oh awesome people of internet land, what cool thing could I get for <200 dollars? I know it's not a huge amount of money, but it's large enough to get something good, eh?

No video games either, unless it's particularly spectacular (Think unknown but amazing)

If you want a truly unique game with a roughly $200 price tag that's actually justified, look up Steel Battalion for the original Xbox. It was a mech sim, similar to the Mechwarrior games, which cost $200 new because it came with a specialized controller that exactly mimiced the controls of the mech in the game. Multiple joysticks, foot pedals, tons of buttons, the whole nine yards. A quick ebay search tells me it still runs around $200 dollars, and you would definitely have bragging rights if you had a complete copy.

As for what I would actually do with $200, I'd probably put it in the bank and save it for eventual purchases. If I had to spend it all in one go, I'd probably go for a home theater component, a stack of movies, a pile of videogames, or a ton of books. As much as I would love a copy of Steel Battalion, I'm too cheap to ever be able to justify buying a copy to myself.

Er, shameless promotion aside (as in I made a review once), I'd suggest Sacrifice as the game. Since I still call it amazing. But that one is cheap.

As non-video games, I personally would buy books or look for weird yet interesting things on thinkgeek or ebay. I almost bought a shrunken head once.

Why not BURN it?

Seriously though, just save it until you think of something you want. Don't spend it on something someone else thinks is great.

$200 will get you pretty fucking far as a (series of) tank(s) of gas. Go for a drive, leave the state and find somewhere interesting. Camp out overnight, then come home. I did that staying a week at my friends house for almost a week. It was great.

You should either

1) Wait until a steam sale and buy several years worth of games

2) Buy a top hat, monocle and a pocket watch and CLASS THE F*CK OUT OF WHATEVER ROOM YOU ENTER!

Well, give it to me, and I will give you gold in return. All you need to do is to PM me all your personal data that has numbers in them, properly labeled and all/

What are you burning money for?!?
[/joke]

In all seriousness, it really depends on what your friends like. The great people of the Internet have absolutely no knowledge of you or your friends...

Actually hold that thought...

Yes that is correct, absolutely no knowledge of you or your friends, and since you have failed to give us any more information to collect we cannot give you a valid answer.

They're your friends, you would know what each of them would want. If you don't, hang on to that $200, give it some time, wait for one of them to perk up and say "I wish I had that robe and wizard hat, but it costs too much" or something along those lines. Just don't tell them you have it. If you already told them you have it, tell them you gave it to a charity.

I'd get a festival ticket myself, but that might not appeal to you.
Yea, might not appeal to him if he's not AWESOME.

Live music tickets. Only way to go.

As a poor student I'll take donations. $200 that's enough to get me my new electronics book for this semester, and with $54 to spare..
And I need 3 books with each a price tag in that range.

Spend it on FarmVille!
Wait, that's a terrible idea....

Anyway, I'd use it to buy a new game, a cool shirt, and save the rest.

Lightsabers!!!

They're a real burn of money. They look cool and are utterly useless for anything practical. But they're lightsabers!

Here's the Force FX ones: http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/collectibles/b72c/

And here's ones you can actually fight with: http://www.ultrasabers.com/default.asp

Buy all of the drugs. All of them.

If it was my 200 bucks, I'd just probably buy some blu rays, games or manga. Maybe save it considering I'm going to three conventions this year. (because I'm a loser?)
