They did not do it to confuse people. And Clarke said that the sequel's ae not actually in the same universe, they are parallel universes, of a sort. They're what might have happened.Axolotl said:The creators intentionally set out to confuse people.
If you really want to know you could just waatch the sequel. Or read all the books, that might explain more.
Ok that helps a lot! thanks!FargoDog said:There's a really awesome video on YouTube that does an analysis of the ending. Let me find it for you..
Thar you go. That should hopefully shed some light on it.
I really liked it, I've always been a fan of science fiction and my friend almost hit me when i said I hadn't seen it. Also after I was finished I got so many joke in movies, games and TV shows that I didn't get before.Scobie said:Read the book. It explains the plot properly. The film really isn't about telling a story at all. What did you think of it, by the way?
I kinda see why, i think I would have liked it more if it had ended 10 minutes earlier but I also guess the last 10 minutes are what make people talk about it even to day.Scobie said:Glad to hear it. I think it's an absolute masterpiece - quite possibly my favourite film. But it seems to be a "love it or hate it" thing. One of my friends fastforwarded through the ending and has never forgiven me for persuading him to watch it.UBERfionn said:I really liked it, I've always been a fan of science fiction and my friend almost hit me when i said I hadn't seen it.
