Really? I sort of looked at those fights as a bit necessary in order to be built up. The failed experiment introduces you to dodging, the Bane fight teaches you how to deflect a charging enemy with a batarang, then the first few Titan enemies teach you how they're a little different from Bane. Then it unleashes the full shitstorm when you fight multiple Titan enemies with mooks coming off the rafters. The initial impression from anyone would be that it's a stale rehash of what they have, but the fact is it forced you to fight very differently to accomodate for the absurd number of different enemy types trying to kill you at once. And, the difficulty curve to show you how to do it was very appropriate as it stepped up.
Well, I agree that the titan enemy fights were well done, but it got stale after awhile, seeing as how you fought those guys numerous times and the addition of more Titan thugs didn't force me to change anything about my fighting, other than dodging their charges more often. But I still think the rest of the boss encounters were crap. Poison Ivy felt out of place, the controls just weren't mad for that type of fight. Killer Croc felt hilariously easy, especially after how much effort the game put into building him up. Scarcrow's final fight was just an easier version of the Titan battles that came before, and the Joker himself was just a big let-down.
