I'd say probably cancer reducing drugs (Not curing, but reducing, like the cervical cancer jab etc), effective use of chemotherapy and biofuels. Biofuels not because I'm a hippy, because I'm a cheapskate, and biofuels give you money cash per litre :p

Things I would like to acknowledge as the WORST inventions of the last decade include: Voting in the Labour party again, making Jade Goody a millionaire, making Russell Brand a millionaire, blu ray and not executing every person who falls into the category of "PC brigade"

More normal inventions - LCD tvs (they take up less space), Sky +, and broadband internet. Without it, we'd still be hearing eeee-errrrr-eeeeee-errrrrrr *white noise*. Urgh.

USSR

Probably your average communist.

well i will tell you when the decade ends in 2010. decades run from 1 - 10, not 10 - 9.

your math fails. learn to count in the decimal system
And you fail to contribute to this thread.

..and capitalization.

OT- I'll have to go with what I use the most.

High Speed internet. It literally opens up a world's worth of information, and is very convenient for digitally buying games, renting movies, buying music (snigger), shopping online, and that's not even mentioning the abundance of porn.

My vote goes to the Smart Phones (iPhone & Blackberry).
this is also a fail cause the Blackberry was invented in the 90s
My apologies for not meeting your requirements or expectations.
Don't apologize. He's the one who doesn't seem capable of counting to 10.

I'd have to say touch screen technology. Fun stuff.

I now can't think of living without my iPhone which does even more then what my previous phones did.
[small]With that horrible battery life?[/small]
I can, and do.

Uhh, favorite invention...favorite invention...carbon nanotubes, perhaps? More like a discovery, actually.

Maybe I've just been reading too much Cracked.

EDIT: Well, games consoles, mostly. The Blu-Ray's pretty cool, I guess. And different kind of headphones.

I have no idea what headphones were like back in 1999 and before, but I can imagine that not nearly as good.
Meh, it works for some better than others I guess. Weirdly I don't have any batter life issues, well not more than when I owned a Nokia N70. Roughly the same I think.

You're too kind. Touch Screen is a bit older than the 2000's I remember someone telling me. It could be from RAKtheundead's Iphone hate rant though. Still I know what your getting at, I can't wait for when we have holographic interface though.

Well of course. Most technology is in development and testing for at least a decade. But it wasn't really commercially available until this decade.... Its still my favorite though... NO MOVING PARTS!!!! That means it doesn't wear out as fast as other stuff.
