Every important main award will be won by either The King's Speech or Social Network. Most likely King's Speech, as that's not a film to be SEEN, it's a film to be bragged about.

next tired, predictable award show please.

I really liked True Grit.

I just can't help giggling at how much Cogburn sounds like cockburn.

Summer Wars didn't get the nomination? I thought it'd be a shoe-in after Funimation sent it in. Something seems very wrong here.....

Someone tell me how that does not deserve Best Animated Feature.

You forgot Toy Story 3 wining best animated picture. Or maybe you didn't, since it should be a given.

I must admit that I was already dissapointed with this year's results as soon as I found out that Tron: Legacy didn't even get a nod for best original score. Daft Punk's music, especially in the Tron setting, made it the best soundtrack I have ever heard

TRON really got snuffed didn't it?

No soundtrack, art direction, special effects or anything.

I think that people who dislike the Oscars are edgy and cool, and I think that people who like the Oscars are cool enough to fellate. I also think that discussion either way is pointless.

Just, y'know, saying.

Well, I'm glad Inception got four wins, and this was the least interesting Best Picture winner ever. Not the film itself, but everyone knew it would win and nobody really cared.

I've never followed the Oscars before, but I can see why a lot of people say it's predictable and boring. King's Speech, King's Speech, oh bloody hell, King's Speech. The show was disappointing. At the very least I guess I'm happy some of my favourites were nominated or recognized in other categories.

Still, I huffed and I puffed when King's Speech won the last two awards.

I thought the King's Speech was alright, but I was rooting for Black Swan. Oh well. But I very much preferred the King's Speech over True Grit.

I'm sorry, but I'm really getting sick of people regurgitating MovieBob's opinion on The King's Speech. The King's Speech was the best film of the year (that was nominated), and it had serious heart. It was not a movie created to win an Oscar and it was not intended to be "Oscar Bait". It was written by an elderly man who has lived through World War II and suffered enormous personal loss. He was never a part of any Hollywood circle and up until now has never been nominated for any big time award.

The movie was first pitched to Hooper (the director) by his mother. Before this movie Hooper had done 2 films, the best of which was a biopic about a little known English football (soccer) manager.

The King's Speech was an utterly amazing movie and damn well deserved everything it won. The people behind the movie demand serious praise.

Moviebob's completely inaccurate description of the movie doesn't change that.

But hey, maybe I'm just biased because I struggle with a slight stutter and I could relate to Firth's character on many, many levels. The movie was tremendous.

I'm boycotting the Oscars in protest until they include a best action, and best comedy category.
I hope you will all join me.
