I'd have to say those are good choices, especially Company of Heroes. I was going to say add Red Alert 3, and saw that you'd added it already. Also, instead of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, play 2. Much better game. Also, get Total Annihilation. Fantastic game, it's what Supreme Commander was sort-of based on. Really fun game. It's on gog.com for a really low price.

Damn it people, you're going to keep me going well into 2013 at this rate lol. Luckily I have disposable funds at the moment and my shopaholic nature never ceases even when it comes to games. I've done some research into every game mentioned here so far, some I've shied away from because of low average review scores, others just don't look like my cup of tea, but thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm going to add some more to my list and most people I've quoted below contributed to that.

Forgot to mention before you made me look up Empire at War again, I played this when it came out, really nice game. Will be looking into it again. Did some research on Galactic Battlegrounds too, looks good, have to find this somewhere. Added to list.

If you're going for expansions to some games, you should try Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath.
Got that already, forgot to put it on the list! Thanks.

I recommend Sacrifice
Holy crap Sacrifice. I used to own the original CD of that. I don't anymore :( Never played much of it while I had the chance. On my list to buy soon from GOG. Thanks a bunch

I recommend both Battle for Middle Earths
Looked em up. Can't say I am a fan of LOTR in general, but hey I'm not much for Star Wars either and I like a bunch of SW games. Game looks good, putting it on my list. :)

Stronghold crusader
Shit man. I remember playing a demo of the original Stronghold on one of my mum's old demo disks in the early 00's when I was a tween. Stronghold Crusader seems like the high point though after some research. Added to my list.

The Movies
Evil Genius
Tropico
Great suggestions, I played The Movies when it came out (torrented, admittedly) and remember liking it a lot. Heard a lot about Evil Genius too. and Tropico I think I played a demo of one of them and enjoyed it. Added to my list.

My question is where did you manage to find a copy of Populous the Beginning? I fancy playing that again but can't find it anywhere.
Yeah as others have said, go for GOG. I am however a proud owner of the original CD version ;)

I'd recommend Spellforce
I remember wanting to check out Spellforce 2 a while ago when it came out and I was still young enough to be mesmerized by the scantily clad lady on the boxset. Gameplay looks interesting, adding to list.

total annihilation is often considered one of the greatest rts games ever made and the commander pack is on gog for $6 so you should probably pick that up if you haven't already.

I think you've made a strategic error. You'll never finish all that lot by the end of 2012.

But don't forget Settlers 2.

You should try Red Alert 3: Uprising as well, it's shorter than RA3, but you also get a bonus story, playing as Yuriko Omega and learning about her struggles.

by random chance i just got my hands on panzer corps.

basicly just a reskinned panzer general one with a new and better user interface and a ton of more content. (and they also added a nifty tutorial, so the difficulty curve isn't like running into a concrete wall anymore)

still as genius as it was 15 years ago. it's a testament to a game when you can just bring graphics and interface up to date a little, but leave every last detail the same, and still get rating scores in the higher 80s and 90s percentile.

i'm serious, that same damn cannon in the hills in front of warsaw that messed up my invasion schedule 10 years ago is in the same damn spot, giving me trouble again!

it is good. you should get it.

I should also probably mention that I don't play multiplayer, so I'm looking for games with solid Singleplayer experiences.
Paradox games; matrix games; check their index, you'll like something.
