23 Rockin' Minutes of the Brutal Legend Demo

The Brutal Legend demo is open to everybody on XBL and PSN today, but if some reason you can't play it, why not watch the entire thing from beginning to end?

The video, posted by our colleagues at intro movie [http://www.vg247.com/2009/10/01/video-the-entire-brutal-legend-demo/] we saw last month - only this time, the censoring is turned off. Oh yes, there's profanity and gore galore (gorelore? No, that doesn't work) so if that isn't your bag, you might want to think twice.

As far as the game goes, I'll want to get my hands on it myself (if I can stop playing Uncharted 2's multiplayer demo) to see how it feels and controls, since it does look a bit... stiff. The good news is that the voice acting and writing are every bit as clever as we've come to expect, and have indeed been hoping they would be.

Brutal Legend hits shelves on Octo - sorry, Rocktober 13th in the States, and the 15th across the pond in the UK (and presumably Europe). Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to cut this post short. I need to go home and play Brutal Legend.

I picked up the demo today - the controls were my only worry with this game, and they work as well as they could. Saying that, though, there's a ton of strategy to be played later on in the game so we'll have to wait unti the final game to see how that plays out.

Also, I'm sure that the demo states that the full game will be out on the 16th in Europe. I hope I'm wrong though, because I'm really looking forward to this game now.

It plays fine. Not particularly excellently, but it's good enough to carry the story and setting.

Some calendars use different month/day/year formats. That just used day/month/year.

EDIT: Metal has no place for ninjas. However, the Escapist isn't metal. I believe that this is my first time being officially ninja'd.

That's odd. I've had the demo for several days. Whatever.

It really is quite good. I wasn't really looking forward to this game, as I'm not very into metal culture, but the writing alone pulled me in, and the universe is imaginative enough that I don't care it's Metal. I will be getting this.

Just finished playing the demo myself, it was a good laugh, but damn short.

It's because the email you used to initially set up the account is under 18 birth-date. I have it too, and not even switching to a new throwaway email for the account (with a +18 DOB) will change it. You're fucked 'til you're 18, sir. It sucks HARD.
