There was a thread about this like less than a month ago:

Yes, but that one was based on specific things in the world, whereas this post is centered around shit in your life.

23?
Where did the 14 come from?
January = First Month. Day was the 4th. 14
You do see you're stretching things, right? In your system you should add 1 + 4 + 2 + 9. Just to make the system "right" you took 14 instead of 1 + 4 and you dropped the 2 from 2009.

Other stretched examples:

"The date of my birthday is June 27. June has 4 letters. 27-4=23".
Why did you leave out the 6 from June, and why did you substract 4? You can always pull out numbers out of thin air to get a certain result.

"When you add the letters of my street into that number, you get 32, 23 backwards."
What, now 32 is a good number too? And 46? And -23?

"I'm graduating high school in 2012. 20+1+2=23"
You did it again: taking 20 instead of 2 + 0.
If you're trying to prove something, you might as well be consistent.

I thought you only had to say it three times?

Oh no wait, that's Bloody Mary.

Thats just silly. You are dividing the date at different points.
Firstly 1 + 0 + 0 + 7 + 6 = 14...
You graduate in 2012 2 + 0 + 1 + 2 = 5.....
and then 1 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 16...

You clearly are doing it wrong.

S is the 18th letter of the alphabet, as well as being in my username, the date was the fifth of August 2 days ago, the light is on, there are four beer bottles on my desk, and I feel like having three days off. So useing your maths: 18 + 5 - 2 + 1 + 4 -3 = 23

Wow that really is amazing.

Not according to the many movies and tv series episodes that adopted the story, or to the wikipedia entry [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloody_Mary_(folklore)].

*Edit* Otherwise a whole lot of people ordering a bloody mary in a bar with a huge mirror would be in a whole lot of trouble.

To quote the Principia Discordia (which, from what I am told, is where the idea for Number 23 came from):

"Will whoever stole Brother Reverend Magoun's pornography please return it."

Now the quote relevant to the topic:

"I find the Law of Fives to be more and more manifest the harder I look"
(Law of Fives states everything can be related to the number five)

The point is you are finding that those things in your life equal 23 because you are forcing most of them to. Another thing is people don't notice everything that equals other numbers because their attention has been brought to 23. I'll do it with 19.

Birth year: 1990, 1+9+9+0=19
Letters in my full name (which I'm sorry I wont share): 7+6+6=19
I was born on my parents 4th anniversary: 5(may)+10(date)+4=19
last 4 numbers of my phone number(not in the correct order): 0+7+9+3=19
I am 19
My zip code (not in order): 2+2+4+5+6=19

This is without me forcing any of the math.

edit: Im the 32nd post which is 23 backwards! Omg I'm freaking out now!!

But I´m 23. Holy crap! They are onto me. I must hide.

Seriously though, you can find weird patterns from just about everything, if you look hard enough. There´s no real mystery in it. Everything precise and predictable (like numbers, geometrical figures...) tend to form patterns, and since we are creatures fond of everything logical and systematic, we like finding out patterns, consistency, around us. If there isn´t any consistency, we invent it. Well, that´s how I see it.

(Response to original post.)

Show us, by all means, the many different things in your life that add up to 23, and we'll show the vast amount that doesn't. Complete BS.

:) Hellenion.

(I see someone's been watching 23...)
