Final Fantasy VII or X, Fallout 3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., or possibly Painkiller (it is awesome, but not sure if I could play through it over and over again to make it last 24 hours).

Wait, are there other people within a miles radius of me, also under the same circumstances? Because that's a lot of people- I probably wouldn't even bother, we wouldn't last five hours without some idiot trying to get away, or sleep, or something. You know, the kinda "Won't take no shit but also really stupid" types.
Supposing I am alone in this problem, however, I would pick... Hum...
Actually, I wouldn't mind playing Vanilla Oblivion again. Yeah, that could last 24 hours in novelty.

I'm sorry, is a 24 hour gaming stint too much for the people of earth to handle now is it?

Final Fantasy IX or Breath of Fire IV.
JRPG are the only games that can keep my attention for that long.

To anyone who who recieves this transmission, I have been captured by the Alien Command. Trapped in a windowless room without food, or water, I have only a chair, a 42" LG LCD TV with built in freeview, free HDMI cable, an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and stacks and stacks of games. My only information has been a single sheet of paper which reads:

Puny human Earthling,

You will choose one game from the Mighty selection we have supplied you. Once you begin you must play for 24 hours.

If you complete this task you will be freed.

You will not stop playing.
You will not have a bathroom break.
You will not figet in your chair.
You may blink, but not too often.
You will be supplied only with crisps and Diet Coca-Cola
You will not complain.

If you fail to adhere to these instructions, or express dislike at the flavour of crisps you are supplied you will forfit the test.

By forfitting the test you agree to detonate an explosive device that will kill you and anyone within one mile radius.

Puny Earthling, we are no where near by, you will only kill humans.
Most of them really nice people.

Do this, or I will DESTROY YOU

I must do as they say. I must play a game, but which? I must keep playing, so it cannot be a short game. It will have to be Mass Effect. The endless identical settlements with 2 enemies and 'analyse: A particle of Dust!' will keep me going through the whole time. To save the lives of the nice people I will have to save the universe.

Happily I am an expert at computers so I also have ripped up the PS3 and turned it into an emergency transmission device. It only has the old style wifi reciever but it will have to do! It looks like a have voided the PS3's warranty but it's a risk I had to take.

If my Xbox 360 RROD's, tell my wife I love her.

Oh yes and before I forget, I was bundled into a truck and dragged from my home in California, for about 20 minutes until we arrived a------

Fallout 3 I reckon, load it up with a bazillion mods and run rampant, even without mods I've lost hours of my life to that game. I would've gone with WoW, but I tend to run out of goals outside of raiding.

Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2, Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer, Just Cause 2 (cos it's so fucking huge), meh, pretty much anything I could play for 24 hours if everyone around me would die if I didn't.
Your Avatar has disallowed me from watching an episode of Doctor Who ever again. I hate you.

Either Mass Effect 2, TF2 (assuming the robot overlords provide us with high speed internet!), Rome Total War, or Empire Total War. You have to love the Total War series, and anyone that says Civilization is better should try fighting battles in real-time; you no-good turn-based diplomacy lovers!

I'll take Oblivion, Fallout 3, Borderlands, or a good MMO.

If I had to pick only 1, I'd say Borderlands with all DLCs.

Soooo many times I've played this, then I've realised 5 hours have flown by and I've done nothing else since I got home

Fallout 3 or The Sims. Both are crazy addictive and I can lose 8 hours to them easy but The Sims is less work. Like you can just be watching your sims not pressing any buttons cause they are at work or asleep.

Half Life 2. Gordon Freeman never sleeps.

EDIT: Or eats. Or goes on Bathroom Breaks. Or does anything else for that matter.

Transformers:War for Cybertron I got and beat the storymode before a few friends got it and I dont mind playing them over again to help them out in the least (except for a few boss fight overkill attacks but not enough to stop.) plus there is Escalation to do (I've been told it's like hoard mode[Gears of War] or Fireflight[Halo:ODST] never played either.)
