"28 Days" Series: Love It or Hate It?

I Just got finished watching "28 Days Later" for the second time and I was wondering what my fellow Escapists thought of the two movies that are out.

I (as you may have guessed already) really enjoy the series. The second one was, in my opinion, not as great as the first, seeing that it lacked a humanity feel that the first one did really well. I also found the first movie to be very symbolic. Humanity's weakness, vulnerability, and connection with the infected are all shown through brilliantly executed symbolism that I won't discuss on fear of ruining the movie for those who haven't seen it. (I don't know how to make one of those box things.)

So, does anyone think that there will be a "28 Months Later"? What do you want/not want to see in an upcoming sequel?

Well 'days' was great, but I never saw 'weeks'.

"Days" is an amazing, second only to Shaun of the Dead if you wish to consider it a zombie movie (granted they're not zombies, but that doesn't necessarily stop it from being a zombie movie.) Never seen "Week", haven't seen much reason to do so either.

Oh they'll make a sequel (its in production I hear) called 28 months later, and it was a cliff hanger ending at the end of Weeks

28 Weeks is not a good sequel, 28 Days was brilliant, a grade A post-disaster film, but 28 Weeks Later feels like a shoddy action film, and the Americans (I'm sorry if this is insulting to anyone) Act with such blindness to the situation that it is laughable. So yeah Days yeah its good, Weeks we can do without.

I've seen 28 Days later, and I thought it was ok... the beginning scene with the completely desolate London was great (how the fuck did they pull that one off with no special effects?), but other than that, it was mostly "meh", didn't really scare me... and when a film thats meant to scare fails to frighten the worlds biggest scaredy-cat, you know its doing something wrong.

Days>Weeks

Days was the best, but Weeks just seemed like an unnecessary sequel.
I do hope Months is going to be good, seeing as it is going to be directed by Danny Boyle, who directed Days (but not Weeks).

I really enjoyed "Days". I've never seen "Weeks" so I cant say much about that.

Weeks didn't had that british charm from director Danny Boyle. It's ok at best. However, if you're going to make a good focus on a group and likeable characters, Danny Boyle is the man.

I wish that he'll direct "28 months later".

They're both awesome and you should check em' out if you haven't seen them yet. The more Zombie movies the better.

Both were great as zombie (infected people) movies. First one was better. The second movie's ending kind of set it up for a third movie though.

I was wondering the same thing about the desolate London streets.

The movie was more of a suspense film for me. It didn't scare me that much either. I think we have to consider though that the scariness factor wears off in most movies after we have been exposed to them enough times.

Weeks was a major disappointment. When fox buys the distribution rights to your film (like they did with 28 days) they get the rights of the IP, and hence put out a truly terrible sequel.

Oh well, at least the deal meant I got to see the first one in wide release.

Days was an epic, amazing, super fantastic unZombie movie (keep in mind, they never died, they just got Super Ra(ge)bies.). I never saw the second one, but it seemed like a super silly premise so I really have no interest in it, especially after everything I've heard about it.

I liked Days more than Weeks, but I still liked Weeks.
I just hope that "28 Months Later" will be out soon. (I think that it's being made)
The ending of 28 Weeks Later was a cliff hanger, and it pissed me off SO much.
