Am I the only one who really doesn't mind institution food? In never did in high school and now that I am in college I really don't mind it much either. Does anyone else feel like maybe we say we hate it just because we are SUPPOSED to?

I dislike some of it..because it tastes bad. The food from the cafeteria that tastes good, I'll eat and enjoy, and the food that doesn't, well, I won't.

It always tasted decent, but people complained that it wasn't Olive Garden-quality even thought it was just two bucks. Good for the price, but not something I'd eat if I had the choice, to be honest.

i have no idea. i was never able to eat it thanks to every school i have ever attended not being able to confirm whether or not their food contained peanuts.

i did manage to try a similar meal to what they made there once though, and i didn't like it, but that probably isn't very fair considering it was only once.

Hi Mr L, quick word of warning, the administrators and by extension the community here doesn't like one word answers. Could you edit your comment and make more of a discussion?, or you know for future reference write a bit more, doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense I mean look at the shit I write! (woohoo, i'm crap)

anyway, my answer is;
Yes.
sorry, kidding.

Seriously though, when I read "3 hots and a cot" I assumed it would be a nasty link akin to "2 girls and a cup"

Elementary and High School cafeteria food tasted like shite on shite style bread. College has great food and fairly cheap but they still make some messups.

I loved school lunch back in the day. There were some kids who used to act like they were all above school lunch because they brought PB&J sandwiches from home with apple juice. Fuck that. Whatever they brought from home wasn't shit compared to the fried fish filet with the cheese inside. That there was good eating. Military rations, on the other hand weren't so noteworthy.

Depends on the size of the facility for jails. Usually smaller facilitiies have better food because the can afford to spend more money on it.

You do realize you title is referring to jails right?

I didn't mind it in primary school. I didn't eat it in high school because all my friends brought their own lunches and I wanted to eat with them. I ate dinner in the university cafeteria my first year, which tasted fine, but they didn't have much variation for vegetarians so it got boring very quickly

My campus has a Jerry's pizza right there in the student center, plus a Subway down the road, a TGIFridays, and Arbys, and some other places all within a 5 minute drive.

I will never forget the bacon sammiches from college :O
Or the cans of apple and cranberry juice.

But the college and school that I attended where I'm living now both had good quality food.

I was totally not expecting a thread on institution meals... for obvious reasons.

OT- Most (high) school meals are pretty bad, but every once in a while they will have Albie's Pizza Sticks. Enough to give you an oralgasm! :D
