I'm starting to think that these reports are becoming more common...

Ya know, I actually think they are, just this week in my town a kid up the street killed the person he was staying withs cat by bashing its ribs in with a fire ax and chucking it in the forest because it chewed through his head phones... I wish my friends weren't such pansies and kicked him out for that, now whenever he comes in the room its just awkward silence...
Is it just me or are people starting to lose some basic respect for life? (I would like to note I do not believe video games are the problem in this case, the kid hates video games and has spent his life working his body so he can try to lord it over everyone and make himself feel cool. I believe this is a case of a kid who has never been physically punished for anything and hasn't faced any consequences in his life short of suspension for a few days, and even then the parents told him good job for standing up to those who fuck with you.) I blame the fact that schools can't beat people anymore, ya I would hate it to but some people really do need a good beating for the shit they pull.

While it sure as hell doesn't excuse her behavior, it may at least explain why she did it.

There were 2 "adults" involved in this. There is no excuse. Really there's no justice worthy of the crime either.

Perhaps they were the Japanese answer to negligent uber-chavs? Either way the lack of responsibility on the parents part is pretty shocking - sounds like the toddler needed to be taken into care before all this started.
