I really don't see the issue, the site is called 'beautifulpeople.'
It isn't a standard dating site like 'e-Harmony', cause if they did something like that then we have an issue.

We all know there are beautiful, normal, and ugly people in the world, but as soon as someone openly makes the distinction. So many people, get all bunched up in there panties. It's quite insane.

You know its possible to be attracted to someone by there physical traits, and then get to know them and find out they are an awesome person. Beautiful people, are people too. Its not just the ugly and normal people who have personality.
yea,but often (im talking like 95% here)of people who obsess over how they look are usaly below average through sub par IQs who have no care for nothing but designer clothes and makeup and the latest designer "trend"(as in an drunk idea a fashion designer puked up at 4 in the morning after a party) and dont care if the world is about to end, no only as long as the have there "beauty" the rest of the world can burn in hell.

Beautiful people my ass, probably filled with narcissistic airheads who sign up to caress their own egos.
I just checked it out and you pretty much hit the nail on the head there. I guess all this proves is that there are ugly people who are just as narcissistic, stupid, and shallow. But 30k sounds like a lot.
I figure, let them all inbreed. The world needs bimbos and mimbos. Where else can we get our massage therapists and actors from.

What is so bad about that site?
I mean I am as ugly as hell, but I don't mind it. There are all kinds of dating sites out there and for good reason: Some people have really specific demands for their partners.

Why is this bad and a site that adresses primarily academics good?

TBH - This does not really bother me.

Of course, these conceited assholes disgust me to no end; I think they're a bunch of vapid, stuck-up, shallow harlots who still think real life is like high school - a bunch of petty, bratty, little adult children who should be dragged from their homes into the street and have their faces carved off in public to force them to join the rest of our ranks (I enjoy ironic and heavy-handed punishment).

However, it's a private site and they set the rules. Have to respect that to some degree - if they want to isolate themselves to preserve their exclusive little circle-jerk, then let them. It's only going to be more satisfying to watch them all eventually break down once they start aging, when all their good looks and sex appeal begin and continuously decay until they are left with nothing but the vapid shells they've always been, but then in it's undistilled emptyness.

Yes, my antipathy for these kinds of people is very strong. However, I also believe they should be allowed to do what they like if they pay for a privatized site to do so.

Hey, without ugly people against which to compare, there would be no beautiful people; or the standard would just be set higher.

I'm doing my part to keep the dividing line low ;-).

I don't understand why people get so upset about this.
I wonder if the same people would be as upset about a dating site for smart people, or for ugly people, or for people of any sort that share a common trait of any kind.

Why is the appreciation of physical beauty so appalling to people? It's not the only thing that defines a person, but that goes without saying.

As a disclaimer: I would probably not get into their community. Who cares?

I'll just quote my self from the last thread

Old news they done this before when they kicked people who gained weight. They defended them selves by saying people knew what they were singing up for. The web site is full of shallow people, those who don't like it have hundreds of dating site alternatives. Its not a big deal, it would be like complaining that christiansingles.com wouldn't allow atheists. If people go on a dating site looking for a niche, they should be able to get it.
If you don't want to meet people who judge appearances, don't go to the site.

I love how people want Lulzsec to hack this.

Why would they? The website is doing a better job trolling then Lulzsec ever could.

Now this is the kind of site I'd like to see Anonymous or LulzSec go after.

Am I the only one that doesn't think this website is a completely horrid concept? There are plenty of dating sites out there, most of which you must pay to use. Attractive people tend to have higher standards for physical appearance and may be secure enough to admit that it's high priority for them.....then again, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt by not assuming that they're all a bunch of shallow snobs who were part of the niche that I loathed in highschool and are willing to pay money for verification and recognition of their appearance.
