The one civilian on board probably chose to be there and cooperate with the soldiers making him guilty of their crimes. It is tragic but People have to realize Afganestan is a very personal war, because their are not high casualties and its fighting against terrorists rather then another country you will see the face and name and story of every person who died rather than just seeing a list published in the paper every so often its just the way war is evolving.

Whats with people in this thread "It's War" no shit sherlocks , but this is a huge casualty, my heart goes out to all the families who recieve the news.

Tragic, but not unexpected. We killed one of their senior leaders and we celebrated it... now the younger leaders will be making reprisals... mostly to make a name for themselves.
...and make no mistake, while the main body of their troops are basically untrained, their best are every bit as skilled as our best... if not so well-equipped.
Local civilians are the ones who take the worst losses in both wars, though.

This story made me wonder why we are using helicopters. They are probably the single most easily destroyed thing imaginable! You can touch anything on any side, and it will crash and explode. You can throw a rock at it and if the rock hits the majority of the helicopter it will explode. Can't we just paratroop from planes? Also, why is this on this website...

It really shows that we need to fix the design or something... in the sidebar of that website, it has the "worst moments" and almost all of them involve helicopters... helicopters can take off and land vertically without a runway and carry a lot of people, but still, when they are as fragile as they are, something needs to change.brainslurper said:

I'm really disgusted by this. Not by the story itself, that is quite tragic. I'm disgusted by the people commenting. Saying "It's war" and "They're soldiers they deserve it" is probably some of the most disrespectful thing you can say. When someone you know dies don't come crying to us.
