Anyone else think this is shitstacks retarded or is it just me? The film was a goddamned universal hit, even though it wasn't technically amazing from a critical viewpoint, but almost everyone loved it (including myself). But a sequel? Isn't that pushing it?

In my opinion, he should be a comic book nerd's dream director, he practically traces graphic novels and comics and translates them to film. But he shouldn't have done Watchmen, and he shouldn't be doing this if you ask me.

Well, the film is being based off of the sequel Graphic novel of 300 that is currently being made. So we have no idea if it is any good or not.

At least its not going to be called 301. Its going to be simply called:

"SPARTA"

It was basically the everyman's perfect film: Badass, manly and awesome. For the most part it's not amazing at all (why did the buttsecks scene pop into my head just now??)

It's not even a case of 'so bad, it's good' it's a case of 'the fight scenes were awesome, so the rest of the movie gets a free pass'. I think this will be the film where everyone finally realises that Zak Snyder needs to stop slowing everything down, it did my head in while watching The Watchmen.

Why not do the battle of Marathon?

Because it's not based off a graphic novel, Snyder wouldn't know wtf he is doing.

Atleast a 300 sequel would be better than the flood of DC and Marvel movies we have had in the last decade. A 3 hour long movie that loops the Pit of Death scene over and over again would be 10 times better than Batman 46: The Dark Knight. Seriously, let comic book superheroes fade into unexistence already.

Hmm...I'm cautious. While the first lacked everything but screaming, slo-mo, and action, it was worth seeing. I suppose it would be a matter of if it's another Miller-Snyder collaboration, and if it's straight from the comics, I guess it won't be horrible...unless Miller pulls another Dark Night: Strikes Again. Well written, but a bit off nonetheless. It'll be weird seeing Gerard Butler not being Leonydias, though
