Also, when not actively protecting your copyrights, you stand the chance to actually lose them I think. This is in place to make sure someone can not make a successful product which you can then sue when it is making money as a corporate strategy. You have to react the moment you are aware.

C&D orders on free products that are old and clearly aren't in the minds of the IP holders just seem stupid to me. If Lemmings was my game, I would have congratulated the guy... as long as he wasn't making money of it.
Hope Streets of Rage Remake doesn't get one in the near future.
