This COULD work because the 360 is cheaper than the Wii. However, they'd have to go ALL OUT with the marketing for this and then it might not work because this peripheral wouldn't come with the console itself.

Either way, this WILL mean sales.

XboxWii60? PSWii? Anyone?
But really, who cares? It's a nice improvement on original tech, and Nintendo will likely get these guys to make them one too. I'm just interested to see what devs decide to do with this...

I doubt that MS would go 'all out' on marketing, since it's just a peripheral. With the added on cost of 70 bucks or so the 360 is definetly more expensive than the Wii, and the Wii already has quite the head start in this field.
I'm skeptical about the success.

Ok, the console wars have been fought, and everyone lost. Now please return to your homes.

Yea, right about now we will enter the console cold-war. The race is on.

April Fool's Day anyone?
It's the 28th here, dunno where you are (or them for that matter) but I don't think so.

If a decent lightgun game came out I would consider buying it.

Why would Microsoft think this is a good idea? they still haven't stemmed the tide of shovelware on the Wii, why would they assume that they wouldn't just port over the shovelware to the 360?

I would laugh if my eyes weren't bleeding right now...

Seriously? If this really IS an April Fool's joke, kudos. If not, then Sony and Microsoft OFFICIALLY have no shame. There would be paper documentation.

Of course they won't. I'm actually more skeptical, however, about the games that'll use this controller.

And the 360, at point blank observation, is indeed $50 cheaper than the Wii. We could argue which has better value all night. ("Wii has a game included" "but the 360 has a DVD player" "oh but...")

Yea but the peripheral cost money (around 70 bucks), so the Wii is cheaper, that's what I meant.

Totally agree here, the games will be the main selling point and unless they announce something promising, we all will be skeptical

Ah, I missed the price. Well, then, label me ignorant.

Anyway, $70 is a lot to ask. Especially with literally NO guarantee of anything worthwhile being made for it. But you never know. There's always that diamond in the rough game that changes everything and I'm still waiting for one this generation... but maybe my expectations are too high.

This is why there's indie gaming, because when they charge you, they'll be honest about it.

And also because Cave Story is the sex.

They're made by a third-party company, I don't think we have much to worry about with either Sony or Microsoft making games specifically for it.

Though I wouldn't be surprised...

Me neither. Why worry about if Sony or MS make games for it? That's the only way I can see it working, or atleast being worth a damn.
