Well, I suppose I got one good year out of it. Thank god for my 3 year warranty.

Anyone else have RROD today? :)

I read a news article somewhere about Microsoft curing the RROD. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2008/jun/12/thexbox360rrodsolvedmicro

Did you try a towel? =P
Also, if you don't feel like sending it in, this one seems to work pretty well: http://www.instructables.com/id/Fix-the-Red-Ring-of-Deathwithout-towels/

I have a question. For those who have sent theirs in. Do you lose all your data? I.e. do they take the hard drive???

No, but mine did have 1 flashing red light last year. GPU fried. I keep my gaming area of the house well ventilated so there was no blaming that one me, yet it still cost me $100 to fix it. I'm not often an advocate of the phrase "the customer is always right" because they're usually not... but in this case, it's a glaring exception.

All of these system failures could have been avoided if Microsoft had designed the console properly in the first place.

They must be doing something right though to have such a ridiculous share of the market though.

No, the Hard Drive stays with you unless noted by the support agent.

whew.....okay for a while i was scared there. Now it doesnt seem so scary suddenly. + if mine dies in the next 3 months when Microsoft give out their new chips i will get an updated version. Someone said something about refreshing the warranty...is that true? Im a new 360 owner.

I thought my Xbox red ringed on me a couple days ago, but it turned out to be just a minor technical error which was easily fixed with the detachment and reattachment of my hard drive.

The difference didn't seem so glaring at the time, obviously.
