Hello, fellow Escapists.

This is directed to you Escapists who have modeling talents, with the 3D Animation Software called Blender.

I was just introduced to this software, and I am currently in a class for it.
Since I have seen animation in action, I have dreamed of doing a space battle, or a dogfight.

And, since I have the crappiest modeling talent in the world, I cannot make ANY of the models I have in mind.

So, if any of you could kindly make these models in the URLs and send them via e-mail to me, that I would be VERY grateful.

BlenderArtists Forums [http://blenderartists.org/forum/] It's a wonderful place.

But seriously, learn to model on your own, especially if you're taking a class in the program. It'll pay off in the long run. Of course, simply having the models is only one piece of the puzzle. The animation will be equally challenging.

@Matronadena: I know Blender has a .obj importer, but if I remember correctly, it has a few quirks.

EDIT: Any particular reason why you're only looking for vehicles from Halo?

Yes, we haven't gotten to the modelling part, besides editing four spheres to make the arms and feet of a Kirby.

Today we're suppose to get into modelling, I think.

But previous modelling attempts were equal to crap. As for Animation, I believe I will be able to handle that.

I have 3d modelling as part of my college course and all I'll say is stick with it and just play around with the software - eventually, you'll get good :) Happened for me :p

Not to insult you, but I think you're in for a surprise when you get to the animation stages. Still, find tutorials online, reference the user manual, and PRACTICE EVERY DAY. If you're determined to do this, you're going to have to take some responsibility for your training yourself. I'd also recommend buying The Essential Blender, it will help a lot.

I know I sound kinda harsh, but really, you're looking to do a fair bit and you shouldn't just expect to breeze by. Nevertheless, best of luck! I've had a fair bit of fun with Blender, and you should too!

No offense taken. I'm not one of those types. But what is this "essential" blender? I've never heard of it.

Sadly, I probably won't buy it though.

Basically a beginner's guide, instructional textbook, and reference material all in one! [http://www.blender3d.org/e-shop/product_info_n.php?products_id=96]

It really helped me pick up Blender, after having learned 3D with 3ds MAX. It comes with general 3D methodology comments, plenty of tutorials, and sample files that help you understand the concepts. Definitely worth the $30!

Oh, well...

Right now I'm in a beginner's class, and there's an advanced class next week, so I probably won't even need that! Yay!
