Would it work?

Would you play it?

What would you want to see in it?

What WOULDN'T you want to see in it?

I know there's that flash one, but I'm talking proper 3D MMORPG, on a scale similiar to WOW..

If you read my post :p "I know there's that flash one, but I'm talking proper 3D MMORPG, on a scale similiar to WOW.."

And I agree with making it hard, games are boring when you run around killing everything without effort.. if there's little ammo, you need to be tactical.. choose better routes.. team up with other people etc. etc.

The world would have to be huge, otherwise it would blow the whole "last few survivors" thing.

Yeah, but better gunplay then L4d. The automatics felt weird.

Also, it would be nice to not have a monthly fee.

Maybe when you die, you spawn as a zombie, and only get your life back when you kill a human. A PC human, not an NPC.

Well, not having a monthly fee is very hard.. I mean, you want new content right? You want 24/7/365 access to the world right? I think something like £5/$8/?6 a month would be much better, without having to buy the game first obviously.

I mean, the latest games cost around £30, so £30 would give you 6 months access to an updating game.. where as the £30 game you'll probably finish and get bored of within a few weeks at best..

Dead Frontier already has a lot of good mechanics down: barricade doors and windows to prevent zombie swarms and give yourself a brief respite, scavenge for supplies, and next to no survivors.

If you could apply that towards what you're asking for, I'd play it. Just expand upon those core mechanics, keep it challenging, and you may have a sleeper hit.

Maybe if it was focused on survival (large consequences for dying like in eve online) it could be fun

It would probably work better with third person shooter mechanics rather than traditional mmo combat mechanics

Wouldn't really work but I know for a fact I would still try it. As long as you could team up with survivors and barricade buildings etc. That would be kinda cool. Actually, screw it... I want this game NOW.

Wasted so many hours on that pointless browser game. Grind the same handful of zombies for hours on end to gain levels so you can use better gear... to kill more zombies... to...

It's pointless.

It's true. It is relatively pointless. Slap a story onto it, though... maybe server wide goals that lead to events...

Why not look at it from a faction point of view?

2 Sides, the humans and the zombies. (very much like wow)

You pick a side, do quests level up etc.

Means there could be PVP and PVE aspects.

Hmm dunno.. I just don't see that working... Zombies are meant to die after a few shots.. how can a zombie compete with a person with weapons..

Respawn timers.

The respawn timer on a human would be 1-2 minutes, whereas Zombies get an instantaneous respawn. Alternatively, as zombies leveled up they could garner special abilities like in L4D such as spitting acid, or using their Gene Simmons like tongues to eviscerate foes...

Now I'm getting kind of excited about this, whens the beta?

So you mean like Left 4 Dead, but MMO.

Fuck that'd be awesome.

It wouldn't work, but it'd be awesome.
I think like that shooting mechanics like L4D except with missions like finding food etc and it may work better.
