As above (thanks, Tanakh) plus have a look here [http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-directx-11-performance,2793-10.html]. Notice down the bottom it states that the CPU is throttling the performance of the NVIDIA graphics card? So to compare a 5870 was thrown in instead resulting in an almost identical framerate - if the CPU bottlenecking was even the 5870 should put out a significantly lower framerate than the 480, especially in DX11;

Sorry I can't link you to the original articles I mentioned, I may have a copy of the magazines lying around so if I find them I'll be sure to link. However, as you can see above my original comments can indeed be verified from other sources on the net.

If the cpu is running at 100% and its cpu lag then it will not help by either having a Nvidia or amd card since they cannot do anything for to help the cpu........
That is not completely true, depending on the game the phisics engine can run either on the CPU or GPU. As for the OP, i can't see why he would go for a GTX 550 TI over a HD 6790, there is no reason whatsoever to do that, but whatever.
No reason, just always used NVidia but have nothing against ATI.

DX11 Benchmark Comparison (clicky) [http://images.dailytech.com/nimage/14039_large_GF100-1.JPG]

That is not a valid comparison as the GTX 480 is more powerful than a 5870. The 5870 doesn't need as much CPU horsepower so it doesn't bottleneck, while the 480 does in this case. If you compared a GTX 470 to a 5870, they would perform about the same with the same CPU as they are equivalent cards.

Yeah and nvidia have it to automatic set it on the most powerful part of your computer so you have to be pretty stupid to use a powerful card and a weak cpu and then put the physX on the weak cpu instead of the powerful gpu.
