You're given this amount of money in the bank. It can be drawn out from any kind of money-related thing, from a local Ugandan bank to an ATM in Tunguska, and in the currency of that country

What do you do with it?

(Don't say "let it gain intrest in the bank", please. That's just unimaginative, if sensible)

Me? I'd travel...everywhere. Forever. Then I'd buy an island in the south pacific. And a personal airship...with a small cargo hold for my turbocharged Rolls Royce Phantom II. And I'd then travel the world some more.

I guess I'd go travelling for a year. Buy some dick-wetting motorbikes for me and a friend and go on an adventure, then I guess I'd buy a few houses, a flat in the city centre, a house in the 'burbs and one in Monte Carlo or some fancy place like that.

Then I'd kick back for a while and repeat the paragraph above every now and then.

I know you said "no 'leave it in the bank'", but I did say I'd donate a lot of it. I could never take that much money and not do something with it - hell, winning 13mil I'd donate at least half of it.

And I'm amazed I haven't been Ninja'd by a "donate it" post. Man, people can be selfish. Do people not realise how much a $bn is? That's 1000 million-dollar cars, like the Veyron. If it's British Billions then it's 1million Veyrons.

I would carry on working too - most Lottery winners go skint because they blow all their money on crap like entertaining, gambling and so on because they have no structure to their day, apparently.

If invading France is off-limits, I'd put half of it into research for alternative energies, $1.5 billion into vehicles and a REALLY nice house in a few world cities, and the remainder will be spent on living.
