So I've just moved into college, and am finally in an environment where EVERYONE has a computer that can game, and most want to. That being said, I don;t have any good 4 (or more) player games that we can all play. I was looking for suggestions on possible ones, and please, nothing with a monthly subscription.

Counter Strike Source LAN servers, you would LOVE IT!
This is probably the best pick up and play game for your situation. I would also recommend RTSs like Warcraft 3 and Rise of Nations, as they have plently of custom games with up to 12 players to keep you going. The last thing you might get are MMO's.

Left 4 Dead is good, and four player. Actually, up to eight player if you play versus.

1) killing floor for a co op game. it can have up to 6 people on any given server and on special servers its up to 16.

2) UT2k4 (unreal tourment 2004) best UT on the market, and the fastest paced PC fps ever.

3) for an rts avoid blizz they are still stuck in the rts's of 1997 i would recommend a relic rts instead. Dawn of war 1 is my favorite rts and can support up to 8 people playing on a map.

Left 4 Dead/2 is great co-op.

At least a few of your friends will probably play Starcraft II.

Borderlands is also fun co-op, though it can get repetitive (especially single-player).

Command & Conquer 3. Great fun comp stomp.

EDIT: Flotilla has a pretty nice fourplayer skirmish, but I think it might be 2 humans and 2 cpus making up the four people. I also don't know if it does online or LAN.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is pretty good for some 4-way squad action but it's a little expensive compared to the Valve games.

Go for Left 4 Dead! You will never look back! I play the original with my friends all the time, and we all have over 200+ hours logged into it, and still have a blast every time like it was the first!

You can't go wrong with Left 4 Dead! Do it!
