Also, 4chan is not that bad, it's more like a gateway between decency and utter disgust (7chan and the other chans are far worse, as even 4chan refuse to speak of them). I think the key to winning this war against 4chan would be to have an experienced hacker hack the site so all of the pictures are just pictures of boring men in boring suits doing boring things. Then hack it so you're unable to post.
That said, if that website died it would have catastrophic results as mentioned above.

/b/ is a portion of 4chan, a website with anonymous users posting pictures and commentary.

/b/ is the "anarchy zone", I guess I'd tell you, because anything goes there. Lots of porn/feces/racism/hate there, but with a childish sense of glee and trolling.

It's using computers, scripts, servers, etc, to contstantly scream data packets at a web server to choke it to death. Or at least loud and long enough to significantly slow/hinder the site for a period of time.

There are trojans out there specifically created to used infected machines to attack a chosen website. These are refered to "zombies". Yes. Your computer may be a zombie.
