4chan Exacts Vengeance on Spiteful Fast Food Worker

Turns out 4chan isn't the best place to brag about messing with people's food.

As a forum community that hinges on complete anonymity and an anything-goes environment, 4chan and its associated group 'Anonymous' tend to be wildcards. Their appearances in the news range from collaborating with the FBI [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/107078-4chan-Member-Gets-Jail-Time-For-Sending-Dirty-Pics-To-School] to prevent a school shooting. Fortunately for society at large, 4chan users have once again used their powers for good; this time, they've tracked down a Burger King employee and had him fired for violating health and safety standards.

An anonymous user - presumably the culprit himself - posted a picture of a Burger King employee standing in two tubs of lettuce with the caption, "This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King." Unfortunately for the lettuce stomper, he forgot to take into account the file's Exif data, which betrayed the GPS location of the photo. Other 4chan users quickly ferreted out this data and pinpointed the exact location of the Ohio Burger King branch, then proceeded to alert local news outlets.

Cleveland Scene sent to Fox 8 Cleveland [http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2012/07/17/4chan-catches-mayfield-heights-burger-king-employee-who-snapped-pictures-of-himself-standing-on-food], the employee has indeed been swiftly terminated. Not bad, considering the original post went online just two days ago.

I bet that guy's manager is so pissed. Hopefully they aren't in the same D&D group. That'd be so awkward.

It's a fast food place and we're only questioning the lettuce? Yeah, nice tree, but where's the forest?

Wow.
Owned, I guess.
It's nice when arseholes get what's coming to them.
And I don't eat at Burger King anyway.

The fact that someone posts such a violation of health regulations ...
The fact that the person who took the photo was too dumb to remove the EXIF data ...
The fact that it took bloody 4chan to be the "hero" on that one ...
The fact that society is in a state which makes this not only newsworthy, but also insanely hilarious ...

I dunno, guys, which of those is worst?

I know it isn't quite right, but that's the first thing that came to mind.

And good on those anons I guess. Another day gone by, another lettuce saved.

I read a story recently about a teen who bragged about murdering an elderly (60+) person on Facebook.

By those sort of standards, failing to remove the EXIF data is positively genius level.

This title was too good to pass up. Well good on anons for taking this douche down. Not that I trust Burger King anyways for it's cleanliness but this just makes me not want to eat there even more. Burger King tends to hire the most ghetto/rude people imaginable from my experience.

For that last bit, it most likely got a little recognition from around the area, but its not gonna be a national affair. Its a news story here because it involves 4chan, and The Escapist never lets a story go by that about Anonymous or 4chan.

Also, I would say the first is the worse.

Ah, 4chan, where posting loli hentai gets you props, and lettuce-stomping gets you fired. Where would we be without you?

Sometimes, the system works. And sometimes, something good comes from 4chan. These things happen. Though, bets on that the only reason it happened was because no one wants the twat to get away with it, since we all like to enjoy our food.

That's nothing. I remember reading a story a while back about a guy who broke into another guy's home, took pictures, bragged about it on Facebook, posted the pictures, all from the computer in the house he broke into AND LEFT IT LOGGED INTO HIS FACEBOOK.

nope, but the lights are one though.

Based on the Kodomo No Jikan icon, I assume you're familiar with the site?

In an "I know what it is" kind of way.

Oh Kodomo no Jikan...you so crazy. Once you get past the shocking wrapping on this present it's a fairly standard comedy/romance anime. Somehow disappointing in the fact that the loli this is what they were hanging their hats on.

Was I the only one in the thread? I thought it was BS at first. I can't believe it made the news...yesterday.

Sounds like someone never read the manga, or even saw the second season and OVAs.
