Faith for humanity +/- 5 points.

Really, I have ventured to 4Chan a few times, and I don't really bother with it. It's not nearly as bad as people say, just the /b/ board and whatnot. So, really, 4Chan reminds me both why I hate the internet sometimes and why I love the internet sometimes.

4chan is a hit and miss site. Depending on the day and time of day you go you with either be bombarded with intense amount of nudity, gore, racism and profanity, or less amounts of it. It has it's moments when there are threads that shine though.

I do say fuck them for greatly attributing to the My Little Pony shit though.

I only really visit /mu/, but I like the sense of humor there. It's completely different to /b/, which is basically a filter, and you get the impression that most of the people there are pretty intelligent.
My only beef with /mu/ is that it is a lot of "STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE!" and "If it get popular it sucks".
Welcome to the internet.
I am not really sure why you are saying that. This is obviously not my first rodeo. It is a music discussion board and my complaint is when people don't make it about music or respect people's opinions.

So just because it is the internet I can't dislike it? Sorry, I don't choose to accept that.

Stay away from /b/ and 4chan is honestly a decent site. Boards for pretty much anything you can think of. Most of them full of people who actually know what they are talking about. /wg/ the wallpaper board has to be one of my favorites. Not even to get wallpapers for my computer, just because there is some amazing art there.

Lol at the 12 year old comments.. It is so true, if only they would stop trying so hard...

Used to go on 4chan a bit, should really visit it more often. It's like the crack cocaine of the internet forums.

I spend most of my time on /v/, occasionally venturing out into /b/ if things in vidya are moving slowly.

It's a fantastic place to hear news about whatever you're interested in, as people have usually posted it there a while before most sites have any articles written up. *cough cough*

My instincts are to scream "RULES 1 AND 2 NEWFIENDS!" but, because this a good discussion, I'll hold my tongue.

/b/ is occasionally good, but it's pretty cancerous. /x/ is always a good choice if you don't want to sleep, but it's too slow most of the time.
¬¬ again with the "RULES 1 AND 2"... Dont you ever read the rules!? those only apply on RAIDS Jesus!

I never even heard of 4chan before I started posting on this site. The constantly referenced it, so I decided to see what it was all about. I went on /b/ and was immediatly annoyed and disgusted.

I forgot about 4chan for a long time. Months go by and I decide to check out some other forums. I try /v/, it was ok. I try /co/, it was fine, but I didn't know enough about comics, then I found /mu/ (the music forum).

Since then I have gotten a constant source of music suggestions, been introduced to new artists, and expanded my taste in general.

Now 4chan's community is mean, immature, and cruel, but they do know what they are talking about. If you can learn the lingo and pick up a thick skin, places like /mu/, /tv/, /v/, /a/, /ck/, /sp/ and so forth can be interesting places to talk to a like minded (and suprisingly intelligent) community.

4chan isn't a great place, but it is a unregulated mish mosh of like minded individuals. And if you can get past the racism, homophobia, and blatant ignorance you may be able to find something you like.

Anyone with similar thoughts?
I've found /fit incredibly useful for legitimate (and illegitimate) advice on losing weight and getting fit. The cooking section is fucking hilarious too.

Well, at least I sometimes get the humor on 4chan. Sometimes. Encyclopedia Dramatica, on the other hand, just puzzles me. I wonder what the people who edit that site are like in real life.

Rule 1 and 2 seems to be better than "the triforce test" as nearly everyone who shouts the rules forgets that it's only for raids and completely shows themselves up.
yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, and no self respecting /b/tard would ever use the term "new friend" not even in a forum that wont let you write the real thing XD

Well, /v/.

The rest of the boards are great, though. /mu/ is fun, /fit/ is hilarious, /a/ has good taste, and fuck /co/ and their Pony shit.

Pictured: /fit/ being more vidya than /v/

4chan is the volatile melting pot and smelting pit where the best of internet humor and memes come from. It may be TOO volatile for some but for others it can be okay.

Whatever you think about the site, the internet won't ever be the same without 4chan. They make the place livelier.

Follow my advice: don't ever post, just lurk. You will get a lot more laughs like that and less anger.

Plus, if you can get past the gore and porn parts of it, /b/ is a funny place.

I guess there's worse places to roll around in the internet's filth. Out of the thousands of posts, there's at least one of them you can either look back on and smile, or smile right away when you see it. There are horrible, unholy, unspeakable things I would love to bleach away from my brain. But there's something about that site that tells me there's something more going on. And after the whole Puddi Puddi crap, I love the mods even more. I almost forgot what they did to that ***** who threw the puppies in the river. That is just amazing that 4chan has become the mighty smiter of the internets.

Depends on where you go. /tg/ for example is fucking hilarious. Others, not so much.
