Would you like me to go to /v/, post one single sentence, and prove that even if they aren't evil, they're still fucking 4chan?

I could spark a flame war with six simple words, I bet.
Four words.

PS3 has no games.

Don't forget, 4chan and /b/ gave us the example of the first cases of internet vigilantism against pedophiles and animal abusers.

They do have certain standards.

Who ever said 4Chan was evil? They're not evil, nor are they a force to be reckoned with, they're just a bunch of guys you don't wanna piss off in numbers. The same could be said with any major group on the Internet.

OT: I'm sure this isn't the first kind act they have done.and I'm not surprised that they're doing this. They just do what they want. When they wanna troll, they'll troll, when they wanna be nice, they will. Simple as that.
Exactly what I was going to say.

That's really not any different from most sites on the internet. Can you imagine the rage if I posted on the Escapist, "Starcraft was a crappy franchise."?

What if I went to -any- anime/otaku board and said their favorite shows were bad?

Internet. It gets personal, even when it's anonymous.

They're seen as bad because most of what they do IS bad.

A few good deeds here and there doesn't change that.

It's kind of flip sides. One side of 4chan is actually really good and endearing. Then there's another admittedly smaller group that are total idiot fucktards. They kind of ruin what real good anon as a whole can do by spicing it with dickishness or getting a mob mentality going.

It's called Random for a reason...

Edit: Wait, which part did it come from? People are saying it wasn't the one that shall not be named, so which one is doing this instead?

Halo sucks.
Say that in gaming forums and a flamewar instantly starts.

Halo is better than Bioshock for me. I wonder how many veterans there are on the escapist.

4chan isn't evil, they're just extremely brash. If even the most minor, inconsequential thing incites their wrath, they will bring the pain. But when they want to do something nice, like fight against a corrupt cult or wish a WWII vet a happy birthday, they'll come through in spades.

Probably because it wasn't b'd. 4Chan is fine except for B. :)
That's what I tell people. 4chan is a decent site, but if you're going to go into /b/, do so at your own risk. Everything else is perfectly OK(for the most part). Heck, I was there when they first opened /r9k/.

Actually, I'm not. 4chan's /b/ isn't really as malicious as it's made out to be (for the most part, they can be ruthless when really angered), and is actually pretty kind in its own lulzy way at times.
