4kids tv. Annoying anime fans since 1992

I gotta hand it to that company. They really know how to edit a show intended for the older audience to best suit it for the younger audience.(Sorry no sarcastic mark thingy)
From the Banned pokemon episode(The beach one), removing the original music(Winx club and all)
to the One piece toy guns(the navy loves using toy guns right?), 4kids have done piss poor editing jobs.
But there is only one thing that bothers me the most. Removing the Japanese culture in the shows. Like the rice balls. I still don't get why they replaced rice balls with sandwiches. This to me is like an act of racism but I could be mistaken. Last thing that also annoys me about them is that making villains into...not villains. I mean... Check out the last video.

A)Is 4kids racist toward Japanese culture even though they use Japanese cartoons? Or just idiots in a suit.
B)Which shows have they ruined that you like?
And no I am not an anime fan.

To answer your questions in order.

A.) Quit crying racist. Go find out what it means before you decry it. They simply want the audience to be able to relate with the characters. At no point did they air anti-Japanese bullshit that included the many actual racist slurs used to refer to the Japanese people.
B.) No, since I can watch the original Pokemon episodes on the internet, and I am pretty sure I have all of the episodes on several VHS tapes.

I dunno about you, but changing a black man into a white man is well...

i think i remember reading a quote from the ceo that they were americanising it so that american children could understand it better, ovcourse since he is one of those who most likely believe that no country matters but america :S oh well theirs nothing you can do about it, sure they destroyed plenty of anime but i think for the most part it made alot of people who saw their shite to go see what the original was all about etc

Sandwiches are the western version of riceballs (maybe) so they edited it that way to make it make more sense to western kids (maybe)?

I think they phailed... the strongest memory I have of the Pokemon cartoon is everyone gathering round a picnic of orange segment sandwiches.

4kids is just another classic example of TV execs thinking their audiences are a bunch of hyper-sensitive, braindead little morons who don't realize there are countries other than the United States.

The stellar, mature programming produced by more progressive animation companies, like Warner Brothers Animation, has proven that children aren't the dolts 4kids seems to believe they are. There's no excuse for them to continue butchering anime in an attempt to "protect" them.

Well, unless they're trying to avoid pissing off Little Billy's sue-happy mother, but that's another discussion altogether.
