This is an absolutely amazing game to play, with or without your fellow hunters. To be honest, there's nothing like those first Deviljho hunts that get my blood pumping, even though I basically memorized it's movements in MH3. Take into account the sheer force behind it's tail, the rampant hunger behind multiple layers of teeth, the enrage mode that promises near instant death if you don't time your dodges and blocks juuuuust right. Let's not forget the Savage ones. The ones that live for bloodlust and death and know nothing but pain and gluttony.
That critter had me and my friends screaming at it and each other the whole 45 minutes it took us to kill the G-rank version. Our thumbs were blistered, one began crying in the corner, we had been hauled back twice and were completely out of potions. In those tense last minutes, we had chased it through scorching desert and muddy terrain, and we cried out in jubilation as the beast gave its death sigh and landed before our feet. We returned home broken, battered, but victorious and triumphant. I used my Gourmet Voucher, and the drinks were on me that day. We had conquered a great beast that day, but drinks could not keep us from the sobering reality, that we had to hunt another tomorrow.
Even though I've snagged 30 of them in my near 600 hours of play, remember this. The moment you underestimate Jho, you die.
OT: Can't speak for all, but if you want to recall stories like this one, this game could just be for you
