Recently my brother made the remark that a good story has to be long, i disagree with this. i believe that a story of any length can have the potential to be good. so a challenged that i could get at least 50 people to write 50 decent stories and that each of them would only be one sentence long, that is were you come in. below simply write a story about anything, there a few rules: 1) it has to be amazing. 2) when you use a period for the first time you stop. 3) if you desire you may write more then one. 4) have fun and help me beat my brother.

He sat there waiting for her, as he did every day, and when she passed he thought to himself someday, someday soon, and sighed.

Props for the ubuntu avatar, btw.

-He went to a far away land learn only to learn and observe, he never counted on falling in love, and he most certainly never thought he would see her again...but he did.-

"Baby shoes for sale: never worn."

No, that one isn't mine.

Here is my attempt:
Nothing can prepare you for the sight of seeing your best friend collect his own life insurance, as I did just now.

He was a madman and an outcast...betrayed,tricked and experimented on,a transient freak but he proved to them all he was still human no matter how different and he won back his life.

-or-

The darkness creeps on his mind everynight, his love for her forces his sanity.

Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chants out between two worlds...fire, walk with me.

Might be two sentances, can't remember.

That...

That is really, REALLY depressing.
If you didn't come up with that, who did?

"There's two kinds of people in life", he frowned while drawing his gun from the holster, "those that dig and those that hold a gun".

As the man stepped out of the nearly destroyed building, he realized that all he could see for miles was the barren waste caused by nuclear holocaust; loneliness set in from the fact he was now totally alone in the world.

Don't know if it's grammatically accurate, but I tried. >_>

A person can't possibly collect their own life insurance - they have to be dead for someone to claim it in the first place. For this reason, people do not make themselves the recipient of the money. If you see your best friend collecting his own insurance in person, something must be really wrong. It is sort of like the old joke that "one is late for their own funeral".

You have good taste when it comes to plagarising.

Jack wasn't known for being a hero, but yesterday he sure was; when everyone saw the bomb with only thirty seconds on its timer, everyone froze, everyone except Jack, who was the only one with balls enough to grab it and run; we owe him our lives, because he gave his up for ours.

Yes I cheated with semicolons, yes its still one sentence.

Me? That wasn't a story. That was me just saying that that might be a run-on sentence. Though here's another one:

As the poison gas crept into the chamber, the man sat with the knowledge that he would could die... would never die... living as an immortal while all he loved fell around him.
