He walked a road of many miles, a road of many trials, and when he reached the end he found nothing but a new beginning.

I'm not very good at this.

I think the trick to doing this well is to describe something that happened previously, and how it has caused something to happen later, in the present. A sentence that does not refer to some previous "inciting incident" (aka an occurance that causes stuff to happen) is boring.

 

[Stilt-Man]

These don't really strike me as stories... more like something you'd read on the back cover to grab your attention.

I suppose, in the strictest sense they are in that they have a plot and characters, but they lack depth/drama/conflict/etc. Oh, well.

Here's my contribution: By the most-basic of storytelling principles, and 50 chums, Steampunk won his wager.
