Interesting map

if only we could fill it up with more missions to make a moon base or a manned flight to mars to finally start space colonization

If anyone makes a joke about "50 Years, 1 Map" I'm going to ban them.
I don't even know what that is.

OT: That's pretty dang cool. Makes you wonder what that map will look like in another fifty years, or if it will change at all.

NASA hasn't really done fuck all in the past...well since they put that last guy on the moon.
NASA hasn't done much because ham brained Presidents like Bush keep stripping their budgets.
think the public simply lost interest over time as well

space turned out to be...a lot of space after all

Yeah, until an asteroid is 6 weeks from wiping out all life on the planet, then those same people will cry "Where are our colonies on the Moon and Mars?"

It's hard to believe that it's only been a half-century since humans began exploring space in earnest, a half-century represented on this map created by National Geographic.
And we're still only in the faffing around area of advancement. :(
Hey! Other alien civilizations might have advanced technology, but dammit, we're making first contact with them while sporting 6-hour boners barely hidden underneath our Snuggies, freshly washed by Oxyclean!

I guarantee it.
